š FREE YOGA CLASS FOR TEACHERS! š§āāļø
Thank you so much for being a teacher and for the incredibly important role you play in shaping the lives of our future generations. ā¤ļø
As a small way of showing my appreciation, Iām offering an absolutely FREE yoga class for teachers!
Because space is limited, there will be a $20 reservation fee to hold your spot. Iāve offered free classes like this before, and unfortunately, when people reserve a spot and donāt show up, it can prevent someone else from attending.
⨠Your $20 will be immediately refunded when you arrive for class.
If you reserve a spot but donāt attend, your $20 will be donated to Woodford Spay & Neuter Clinic. š¾ā¤ļø
šæ Beginner-friendly
š„ Warm, comfortable temperature
šµ FREE with attendance
š¾ No-show reservation fees go to a great cause
No yoga experience is necessary. Come move, stretch, relax, and let someone take care of you for a change. You deserve it. ā¤ļø

I also have mints at the door for that stinky garlic breath!
Iāve been listening to Unbreakable by orthopedic surgeon Dr. Vonda Wright, and it made me realize how many of her recommendations for healthy aging we habit-stack into a single Sauna Yoga class at Ivy League Strength.
Her focus isnāt simply living longer. Itās maintaining the mobility, muscle, bone strength and cardiovascular fitness that allow us to keep doing what we love as we age.
š§ MOBILITY + FLEXIBILITY
She emphasizes working on these EVERY DAY. Our Stretching classes combine flexibility, mobility and dynamic movement throughout the entire class.
š¶ DAILY MOVEMENT
Aim for daily movement and roughly 7,000ā10,000 steps. Take the stairs, park farther away or take a short pleasure walk. This is your homework outside of class!
šļø STRENGTH TRAINING
She recommends strength training 2ā4x/week to maintain muscle and support bone density. Buff Boot Camp adds resistance training to our flexibility, mobility and dynamic movement.
ā¤ļø ZONE 2 CARDIO
She recommends about 150 minutes/week of moderate cardiovascular exercise.
This is where Sauna Yoga is different from Hot Yoga. We practice in a 120°F infrared sauna. The heat elevates your heart rate and keeps you in your Zone 2 heart-rate range throughout class.
That means youāre working on flexibility and mobility while simultaneously accumulating time with your heart rate in Zone 2.
ā” VOā MAX
She also recommends short periods of extremely high-intensity work. I incorporate these intervals into Buff Boot Camp at least once a week.
š„ SAUNA
Sauna gets its own section in the book as a longevity tool, with frequent weekly exposure recommended.
But weāve already stacked it into the workout.
Buff Boot Camp Sauna Yoga = mobility + flexibility + dynamic movement + strength training + elevated cardiovascular work + VOā-max intervals + sauna exposure.
Then your homework is simple: MOVE EVERY DAY.
Whether youāre a weightlifter, CrossFitter, runner, cyclist or simply want to stay healthy, Sauna Yoga complements the training you already love.
Weāre not just training for our bodies today. Weāre training for the bodies we want at 60, 70, 80 and beyond. š„šŖš§
If youāve been curious about sauna yoga but the thought of 120° heat has kept you from trying it, youāre not alone. Walking into your very first hot yoga class can feel intimidating, especially when everyone else seems completely comfortable.
The worst thing you can do is talk yourself out of trying it.
Hot yoga has incredible benefits, including improved flexibility, gentle Zone 2 cardiovascular training while you stretch, increased mobility, stress relief, and so much more. Like anything new, though, the first few classes are the hardest. Thatās why Iāve done everything I can to make your transition as comfortable as possible.
Iāve created a ācold spotā in the room right by the door. Youāll have your own personal fan, easy access to the exit if you ever want a quick break in the air conditioning, and every time I open the door youāll get a refreshing wave of cool air.
Itās also the most convenient spot in the room. All of the props are right there, so if you need blocks, a knee pad, a strap, or anything else during class, you wonāt have to walk across the room to get them.
To make your first few visits even easier, Iāll provide a free mat rental and towel rental for your first four classes. You donāt have to buy anything or remember to bring anything. Just show up.
Need a little extra help? Iāll gladly bring you an ice pack whenever you want one, and if I think you could use a little boost, Iāll even hand you an electrolyte popsicle.
If youāve been nervous about trying sauna yoga, donāt be. Iāve worked hard to make your first experience as comfortable and welcoming as possible. All you have to do is take that first step through the door. Iāll take care of the rest.
One of the perks of being a member at Ivy League Strength is that you wonāt get locked out if youāre running a few minutes late.
I know Lexington traffic can be crappy, and just because youāre delayed doesnāt mean you should lose your spot in class.
If youāre running late, just send me a quick text and Iāll leave the door unlocked for you. If the door happens to get pulled shut anyway, simply ring the doorbell and Iāll come let you in.
No worries. Iāll save your spot.
