SL Family – we invite and encourage everyone to come out to the Shillito Park fields this Saturday, August 22, as we honor one of our own, Mr. Dale Hamlin.

Dale’s visitation will take place from noon to 2 at Kerr Brothers Funeral Home on Harrodsburg Road, followed by a service at 2, and we expect to start arriving at the park around 3:30. Please come out to help us pay special tribute to Dale and celebrate what he means to our league and community.

We’ll be grilling hamburgers and hot dogs, and we ask everyone to wear their SL gear, just as Dale would want it.

Our final 2026 World Series shoutout goes to our 11-year-olds, who traveled to Crown Point and represented us like they always do, with skill, class, and maximum effort. They’ve set such an unbelievably high bar that we know they’re disappointed not to have brought home a championship, but SLYB couldn’t be prouder of their World Series run. Ultimately they brought home third place this year, and we can’t wait to see what their 12-year-old season brings.

Our league couldn't be prouder of this group of players, coaches, and families. They accomplished so much in their time at South Lexington and represented our league in a way that made us all proud.

Our run in the World Series has ended! As the announcers on the Cal Ripken broadcasts stated, we were the favorites to win it ALL coming in as last years 11U World Series Champs! That alone is something to be proud of! We battled hard our last game but came up a bit short. South Lex: 0 Southwest: 3.

We cannot thank our sponsors, community, family, friends, fans and supporters enough for following along our journey and cheering for us! This has been the experience of a lifetime! Although we ended our Rec ball AllStar time at South Lex a little earlier than we hoped here in Branson, we still leave with our heads high and with so much knowing we will forever have our team picture posted as World Series Champs at the park! That’s a pretty amazing deal as we will forever be the 5th World Series Champion team at South Lex!!

Our 11s remain undefeated in pool play after today’s 7-2 defeat of Puerto Rico in Crown Point! They wrap up pool play Tuesday at 5:45 eastern against a tough Manoa, Hawaii team.
