Jody Shoup completed her first triathlon in 2014 and has been hooked ever since! She loves triathlon because it has helped her discover a sporty side of herself that she never knew existed, while also opening the door to new adventures and expanding her travels.
Jody’s first experience with Tri for Sight was especially memorable. She had an enjoyable moment with Susan, who encouraged her to sign up for a triathlon—and the rest is history! Jody is grateful for the friendships, experiences, and adventures that triathlon has brought into her life.
Susan Bradley Cox Tri For Sight
The Susan Bradley-Cox "Tri for Sight" is a USAT-sanctioned event in Central Kentucky The Tri and Du events both finish with a 3 mile run.
This USAT-sanctioned event features a 400-meter swim in a heated, outdoor pool with a time trial start on 15-second intervals. The duathletes will instead be treated to a relatively flat, fast and scenic 2-mile run behind and beside Spindletop. Both Tri and Du events will then transition to a 12.6-mile bike course on low-traffic roads in the beautiful horse country located just east of the Kentucky Horse Park.
Louisa Summers has been competing in triathlons since 2012. She first got involved in the sport after tearing her ACL, which led her to training with Susan Bradley Cox and discovering the triathlon community.
What she loves most about triathlon is how welcoming the community is. Everyone is supportive, encouraging one another, and simply doing their best to reach their own goals.
Louisa is excited to be part of Tri for Sight and looks forward to another great day surrounded by the triathlon community!

Kimberly Peterson has been part of the triathlon community for 15 years. She first discovered the sport thanks to her coach at the time, Susan Bradley Cox, who introduced her to triathlon and inspired her to keep going. Fifteen years later, Kimberly is still racing and still loves every minute of it.
For Kimberly, triathlon has been one of the highlights of her life. Beyond the challenge of competition, she cherishes the incredible friendships and sense of community she has found along the way.
And for 15 years, Tri For Sight has held a special place in her heart. It remains her favorite race, a weekend filled with good cheer, wonderful people, and the kind of energy that makes it a highlight of her year, every year.

Heather Ferguson has been a part of the triathlon community since 2019 and has loved every minute of it. One of the things she enjoys most is celebrating not only her own accomplishments but also the achievements of her fellow athletes.
As a dedicated committee member for Tri for Sight, Heather spent several years cheering participants on from the sidelines as a spectator and volunteer. In 2019, she decided it was her turn to race, and she hasn't looked back since.
Now, Heather is proud to give back to the event that inspired her by helping organize Tri for Sight while continuing to compete alongside the incredible community she loves.
Nate Williams has been competing in triathlons since 2018. His journey into the sport began in 2017 after watching his cousin complete Ironman Louisville, an experience that inspired him to take on the challenge himself. Since then, Nathan has embraced the sport for its welcoming and diverse community, as well as the unique experience of athletes coming together to pursue a common goal.
One of Nathan's first triathlons was Tri for Sight, making this year's race a meaningful way to close out his season. He's excited to return to an event that helped shape his triathlon journey and looks forward to celebrating another successful season alongside the incredible triathlon community.
