LEWIS-CLARK VALLEY COLLEGE FOOTBALL ASSOCIATION

PURPOSE, OBJECTIVES AND MISSION:

In 2013, due to the absence of NCAA-Division III (and D-II) football programs in the state of Idaho, L-C Valley College Football was formed to fill this void. The program was created to help student athletes, academic institutions and NCAA programs achieve their goals and objectives. All Loggers' players are full time students at Lewis-Clark State College in Lewiston, ID. In 2017, L-C Valley College Football became an Affiliated Member of the NCAA.


1. NCAA-DIII schools in the Northwest Conference with larger rosters (i.e. Linfield, George Fox, Pacific, Whitworth) schedule our team for games to attract, develop and retain student athletes for their institutions. These schools often carry between 120-140 players on their rosters. Many of these athletes would not have the opportunity to play in games without the type of games provided by our organization. Many others would not come to these programs in the first place or stay with these programs to develop if they were not given the opportunity to play in these games against the Loggers. In 2017, the Loggers also began playing the varsity rosters of teams in the NWC who are in search of a home game.



2. Our team will schedule and travel to smaller Division III programs who need a varsity game to fill their regular season schedule.



3. L-C Valley also schedules exhibition games against the varsity units of the smaller programs in the Northwest Conference that do not want to add an official tenth game on their varsity schedule and do not have rosters large enough for a “JV” game.



4. There are no NCAA-Division III programs in the state of Idaho. L-C Valley College Football provides Idaho student athletes with the opportunity to play college football against Division III opponents.



5. L-C Valley College Football gives LCSC student athletes the opportunity to play football. In addition, the program provides Kinesiology and Education majors (among others) the opportunity to earn practicum credits to finish their degrees as well as the experience to work for an NCAA program in areas such as coaching, sports information and athletic training.



6. In addition, the L-C Valley College Football program offers youth camps and seminars to develop grade school and junior high athletes who have a goal of playing for a NCAA program in college. L-C Valley College Football is an academically focused program led by Director Bob Thorson MBA, a former Associate Professor of Marketing at LCSC, Dr. Gene Straughan, Professor of Justice Studies at LCSC and Head Coach John Hostetter.

Football, teamwork and plenty of cheers in Clarkston!

On August 29, Twin River Special Olympics athletes took the field at Clarkston High School for a football camp led by Gene Straughan of Air It Out Football Academy, with support from players and coaches from the Lewis-Clark Valley Loggers!

Athletes had the chance to learn new skills, connect with their teammates and enjoy an evening on the field.

A big thank you to Gene, Air It Out Football Academy and the L-C Valley Loggers for sharing their time and love of the game with our athletes!

IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT: GAME CHANGE

Due to insufficient roster numbers at some positions, Pacific University (Portland, OR) will not be able to host the Loggers for our 2 scheduled games this season on Saturday, September 26 and Sunday, October 25. L-C Valley will now play the Idaho Outlaws post-graduate academy on Sunday, September 27 at a neutral field site: Salmon River High School in Riggins, ID (115 miles south of Lewiston). Kick off is set for 2pm Mountain Time (1pm Pacific). More details will be provided next week in our Facebook game advance. An October 25th replacement game TBA. GO LOGGERS!

PLAYING ON THE BIG STAGE!

The Loggers will open their road schedule tomorrow (Saturday, 1pm) against an NCAA Division III varsity opponent when they travel to Tacoma, WA to take on the University of Puget Sound Loggers. U.P.S., who plays in the Northwest Conference along with teams like Whitworth and Lindfield, will provide a great test and opportunity for a young and talented L-C Valley team. Puget Sound’s football facility (Peyton Field/Baker Stadium) on the beautiful U.P.S. campus is an amazing
place to watch and play a football game. We hope our families, friends and fans are able to make the trip to Tacoma for a great afternoon of college football. Wear your green and support your team and…..GO (L-C) LOGGERS!

Fans unable to attend the game can watch it on the FLO COLLEGE network. This site has several sign-up options/plans which will allow you to watch hundreds of college football games as well as other sporting events. WHILE THE VANDALS AND COUGARS ARE BOTH AWAY…COME AND WATCH THE LOGGERS PLAY!

Join us on this beautiful Labor Day weekend as the Loggers kick off their 2026 season this Sunday, September 6 at 6pm. The game takes place at historic Bengal Field on 11th Ave. in downtown Lewiston. L-C Valley will take on the Gladiators of Pacific Northwest Christian College located in the Tri-Cities in east central Washington. This is old school college football, where you’ll sit close to the action played on a natural turf field by players who love the game.

Gates open at 5pm – tickets are $10 for adults, $5 for youth/students. Please bring cash for the gate. An ATM machine is located at the Neighborhood Market (formerly Mighty Mart) just east of the field. Loggers apparel and light concessions will be available at the concession stand, while the folks at the Lucy's Tacos Mexican Food trailer will be serving their fabulous cuisine at the northeast corner of the stadium. Hope to see you there for a great late summer evening of college football. Have a blast and…GO LOGGERS!

BACK TO SCHOOL!

Today was the annual Welcome Fair at LCSC (Lewis-Clark State College) to kick of the first week of classes. Loggers’ players and coaches were on hand throughout the event to talk to hundreds of new and returning students between classes. A great time was had by all. Looks like these guys are ready to roll on the field and in the classroom …GO LOGGERS!
