The Christmas Wreath, The Little Black Bird, Spiral Time

I leave up my Christmas wreath year round because a pair of Zenaida doves build their nest there every year, an event I look forward to. This year I was drinking my coffee, looking forward to their daily visit, when I noticed they hadn’t visited in several days. Unbeknownst to me, the wreath had been taken down. I was heartbroken, and I quickly put the wreath back up, but the doves did not return.

Recently, I noticed a new nest being built. It was a pair of tiny black birds, and I was thrilled. These birds are about the size of my thumb! They took baths in the morning. They told me all their news. And they continued to add little pieces of twigs and fluff to their nest.

Yesterday morning I noticed the wreath had fallen down. The little mama bird was frantic. She hopped along the top of the door frame giving me instructions, fluttering around my head as I worked. The hanger kept on failing and the wreath kept on falling. I tried several different tapes and none of them held. I tried until I was drenched in sweat and then I gave up. I leaned the wreath against the window.

Then late yesterday afternoon, unbeknownst to me, a new hanger arrived. I affixed the hanger to the window and hung the wreath back up, hoping the little black birds would return. This morning when I went outside I noticed a lot of the twigs and fluff that had fallen off the wreath onto the porch were gone. I looked up at the wreath and noticed it was filling out again.
The little black birds played in the bath and chattered away. I smiled as I realized this was a Spiral Time moment. Earlier this year, the wreath had come down and the doves disappeared. I was heartbroken, and I had thought there would be no more nests.

But here I was again — the same wreath, the same doorway, birds building a nest. A very similar story.

This time, the person who had taken the wreath down understood how much it meant to me and brought the hanger that helped restore it. This time, I stayed with the tiny blackbirds and their nest even when I was hot, frustrated, and ready to give up. And this time these ridiculously tiny creatures reminded me how much I value the things that delight me — and that they are very much worth tending to.

Same wreath. Same doorway. Another turn of Spiral Time.

In Aquarian Living we know that life often offers us a return to familiar stories so we can experience more: to see more, understand more, and discover what the story has to offer us now.

And this morning, as the little blackbirds were back at work, chattering away and rebuilding their nest, I was completely and utterly delighted.

The Beauty in Aquarian Living

I love my mornings on the porch with my coffee and the critters. I commune with the birds, listen to the trees, and appreciate those little Moments of Magic that make ordinary life feel wonderfully alive. Those moments are an integral part of Aquarian Living.

Lately I’ve been realizing how much connection, community, collaboration, and creativity are just as integral as well. As I’ve been bringing Aquarian Living to life, I receive and carry the vision and the teachings, in Harmony and Unity with my multidimensional self. That alone is a lot. Bringing this into the world wouldn’t be possible without my community.

Mary Joy brings gifts I don’t have with technology and organization. A good friend brings his own creativity and understanding of how to help this work reach people. Two long-term clients, now dear friends, are my willing guinea pigs – I experiment, they give feedback, we grow together.

None of us needs to do everything. Each person brings what is theirs to bring, and what we create together becomes richer because of it. Connection. Community. Collaboration. Creativity.

Listening to different ways of knowing. Sharing what we see. Creating together. Allowing one person’s gift to meet another person’s gift and become something none of us would have created in quite the same way individually.

This is true Aquarian Living — not just who we are by ourselves, but also how we live, learn, create, and grow together. When our different gifts and ways of knowing meet, we all become more creative, more expansive, and more connected than any one of us could be alone.

How beautiful is that?

Everyday Joy

Every day I pay attention to the small things that genuinely brighten my day.

This little bananaquit is one of them. It landed on the bird bath, fluffed itself up, and stood there looking so completely pleased with life that I had to smile. It seemed like she noticed how well her colors matched the bird bath.

I love all the island birds. They are bright, busy, curious, playful and full of personality. They fly through the porch and swing on the clothesline, chase each other and splash in the birdbaths. Every morning they make me smile, and appreciate how much joy there is in everyday moments.

This pretty little bananquit reminds me how much beauty is available in an ordinary moment, too.

For me, Aquarian Living includes that kind of joy. Joy that is simple. Joy that brings me fully into the present. Joy that stays with me the whole day.

These moments don’t take me away from the deeper work of life. They help me experience it more fully.
A tiny bird. A beautiful morning. A few seconds of delight.

What has been bringing you joy lately?

New Glasses, New Perspective

I cannot believe how long I put off getting my eyes checked.

I knew my vision had changed. I knew depth perception had become challenging. I had even taken several tumbles on the little hill going to and from the beach.

And still... I waited. Then came the fall that finally got my full attention.

When I went for the eye exam, I couldn’t even read the chart on the wall with my glasses on. I was so embarrassed. The eye doctor asked me why I had waited so long and I couldn’t even find an answer.

My new glasses arrived this week. And not surprisingly, being able to see clearly has changed the way I move through my world. I feel more grounded, more confident, and more present in my body. I’m meeting what is actually in front of me with far less effort.

It’s a gentle reminder of a principle of Aquarian Living: Soul-led living is embodied living.

It’s a small practical thing — new glasses — and yet it has changed my experience of everyday life.

Aquarian Living Through Challenging Times

Life has been lifing lately.
I had a hard fall that hurt for a couple weeks. Family concerns that needed my attention. I received a letter saying that my mother’s nursing home benefits were ending at the end of the month because I didn’t provide proper verification (I had) and that her facility didn’t qualify (she had lived there for years.). I was shell- shocked, and spent hours navigating my mother’s situation. One thing after another asking for my time, energy, and presence.

And in the middle of all of this, I’ve been working for weeks creating something new with Aquarian Living.

A few years ago, a stretch like this would have had me questioning everything: Is the Universe trying to tell me something? Am I doing something wrong? Am I on the right track? Why is everything happening at once?

I would also have carried all of it — every problem, every possibility, every person I loved — until everything was settled.

I’m very aware that I move through my life differently now.

I still care deeply. I still show up. I still do what is mine to do. And then I stay connected without carrying every problem, every outcome, and every person beyond what is actually mine to hold.

The right people and the right timing have appeared to help resolve what I could not resolve alone. I allowed help when I was in pain. I helped my family member through to situation. The billing office director in my Mom’s nursing home promised to take care of the problem and not send my mom out in the street (the nightmare that woke me up).

I’ve been able to keep tending my own life, stay connected to my creativity, and continue devoting real attention to the Aquarian Living work I’m creating.

I no longer measure whether I’m on the “right track” by how smoothly life is going. I pay attention to how I am meeting my life. Am I present? Am I living in harmony with my soul? Am I doing what is mine to do?

Am I still available for my own creativity, joy, and direction?

These past few weeks have given me a very clear answer. Yes. Life has been full. And I have remained fully present inside my own life while moving through it.

The work I’m creating with Aquarian Living is growing from that same place — with intention, awareness, harmony and a deepening understanding of how I live and what I am here to share. I’m giving it the time and care it deserves before I share more.

For now, I’m doing what I can do, loving who I love, tending what is mine to tend — and remaining fully present and sovereign in my own life while I do it.

This, for me, is Aquarian Living in practice. 😊

He Wasn’t Even My Favorite Beatle

I woke up this morning remembering a Moment of Magic I hadn’t thought about in years.

Back in 2004, when I was first awakening to my spiritual healing gifts, I wasn’t exactly thrilled about it.
At the time, I was a massage therapist and very comfortable thinking of myself as a clinical practitioner. I was interested in science, anatomy, the body — definitely not woo-woo.

But I kept studying: Reiki, energy healing modalitites, The Akashic Records, different spiritual traditions. Little by little, my work changed, and eventually I transitioned into healing full-time. Before long, I was receiving referrals from all kinds of practitioners, including people who worked with neurodiverse children.

One day I was working with a girl who was brilliant, but traditional school was difficult for her and she wasn’t sure what she wanted to do next. As I worked, my hands began moving where they felt guided. My hands have always been one of my strongest ways of knowing — I often “see” with them and receive energetic information that way.

At one point, I felt my hands being drawn to her heart. I closed my eyes and stayed there for a while, listening.
When I opened my eyes and turned my head, John Lennon was standing beside me.

Yes. John Lennon.

He moved my hand back over her heart, so I kept it there. As I continued, I began seeing little screens with brightly colored animations. I had no idea what they meant. I asked her if she liked computers. She said she liked playing video games. That was about as far as I could get with it, so I simply described what I was seeing.

When I turned my head again, John Lennon was gone.

After the session, I called my mentor and told her I thought I might be losing my mind. She reminded me that I already believed angels and other beings visited me, and that through the Akashic Records I had communicated with people who had passed. “So what’s the big deal about John Lennon?”

I told her, “He wasn’t even my favorite Beatle.”

For the next couple of months, he continued to appear during some of my healing sessions.
Clients would tell me that when they got into their cars afterward and turned on the radio, Imagine would be playing. Others would suddenly smell patchouli.

Years later, the girl came back for a session while she was home from college. She gave me a big smile and told me what she was studying. She was learning how to design apps for smartphones. I smiled too.

All those years earlier, I had seen little screens filled with brightly colored animations and had absolutely no idea what I was looking at.

Now I did.
Made sense to me. 😊

I’ve had many experiences over the years whose meaning arrived long after the experience itself.
These are some of my favorite Moments of Magic — the ones that remind me how much more there is to life than what our minds currently know.

Home, Presence & a Little Black Bird

For me, home within myself feels a lot like when I’m sitting on my porch. I feel most at ease. I sit here with my coffee, watch the birds and other little critters, listen to the trees, reflect, breathe deeply, and feel all of life come close. My porch feels familiar, alive, peaceful, colorful, and completely my own — very much the feeling of Soul Belonging for me.

It is also where many of my Moments of Magic occur. Birds build nests outside my window. Dragonflies hover nearby. Hummingbirds appear at just the right moment. Little creatures do things that make me stop, smile, and pay attention. Like this morning.

I was sitting on the porch completely stuck in my head, ruminating, going around in circles with it. A little black bird began flitting back and forth directly in front of me.

Back and forth. Back and forth. Eventually I lifted my head and looked at it.

And I heard, very clearly: Stop it. Inhale, center and expand.

Well…okay then. 😊 I inhaled. I centered. I expanded. And the whole feeling of the moment changed.

This is one of the things I love about Moments of Magic. They draw my attention back into relationship with life — into the birds, the breeze, my body, my breath, and whatever is actually happening right here.
And because of this, there is so much more available for me to notice, receive, and wonder about.

My porch is a place where I feel most at home within myself, and I think that is why I notice so many Moments of Magic here. I am present. I am open. I am listening.

And apparently, if I spend too long circling around inside my own head, the birds are willing to intervene. 😊

Where do you feel most at home within yourself?
Is there a place where Moments of Magic seem to find you — where life feels especially close, alive, or full of little surprises?

Please share. I’d love to know.

A little Softening, a Little Splash

This morning while I was drinking my coffee, these two little birds landed in the same bird bath at the same time. It was clearly a little crowded for two.
They chattered back and forth for a while, but there was no pushing or fuss, just a discussion.

Soon one of them flew over to the other bath, and with that one small shift, everything changed. They both had room to stretch, to splash, and room to thoroughly enjoy the water.

I smiled as I watched them. It was a beautiful expression of the Lavender Ray of Softening.

Softening creates expansion. When we loosen our grip on what we think has to be, more room appears — for movement, for a different perspective, for a new experience to emerge. The
Lavender Ray invites that gentle shift in us.

One little bird moved to the other bath, and then both of them were happily splashing. It was a small adjustment that led to a completely different experience for both of them.

It was a lovely reminder that stepping back and making room creates its own kind of magic.

It was a week… A Week… A WEEK…

Family challenges, thunderous construction next door starting at 7am and carrying on until 4pm… By Sunday my nervous system was thoroughly frazzled, so I decided to go for a swim to recalibrate.

When I got to the beach, the water felt so good that I swam more than my physical body wanted. I got out more tired than refreshed and walked up the little hill feeling ungrounded and distracted.

At the top, my left foot caught and I went down hard. So hard that a passing truck stopped in the middle of the road and the driver ran over to help me. I tried to tell him I was fine, but by then my scraped right knee and left elbow were loudly expressing a different opinion. I was grateful for the help. He walked me to my car, and I carefully drove home. I had twisted my body so thoroughly that each new day introduced a brand-new ache.

And then the Lavender Ray of Softening began to move through this experience. I rested. I slept. I began reading a book that had been sitting on my nightstand for a month. My whole being was asking for softness, and for once, I listened.

As I lived with the Lavender Ray over the next few days, memories of other falls on that little hill began to surface. Why so many?

I began to see the pattern more clearly. I feel the energetic shift between the street and the beach strongly, so grounding matters. I’m often happily anticipating the water on the way down, or already thinking about my day on the way back up. And then there is my depth perception, especially when changes in elevation aren’t clearly marked.

The Lavender Ray created enough spaciousness that I realized something practical: I had postponed getting my eyes examined for years. So
I went. I couldn’t even read the chart on the wall with my current glasses. My new glasses are ordered and arrive next week , and I’m quite sure my future relationship with that little hill is about to improve dramatically.

The Lavender Ray of Softening can encourage a nap. Sometimes it brings a book. And sometimes, apparently, it brings new glasses, too.

Welcome to my Sanctuary

Welcome in!

Have a seat. Feel calm and peaceful as a deep breath or two comes naturally.

Tell me what is on your mind or heart, or simply say “My friend said I should see you.”

You talk. I listen. Sometimes a Living Ray of Light arrives on its own, and sometimes it arrives with a card draw. It’s always the Ray that is needed.

This week, Helena came after the break up of yet another painful relationship. The Azure Ray of Embodied Truth arrived, and we discovered she was still carrying the confusion and grief from her husband who had passed away twenty years ago. As her session unfolded, she realized this beautiful truth: “He always saw me for who I am."

Then she paused. "So when did I stop seeing myself?" After our session she left lighter, happier, and with a renewed sense of direction.

Debra is always busy, but lately even more so. I was happy she made the time to come in. She has a challenging, complicated move coming up that is requiring more time, emotion, and energy than she can give. She chose The Emerald Ray of Harmonic Alignment.

The clear message? Stop the Story. Face Forward.

She realized the stories of the past were interfering with the possibilities waiting for her. We enjoyed lunch together, and while we chatted she caught herself a couple of times, smiled and said, “Stop the Story!”

I do my Zoom calls here, too. Jenna, who has always been more of a giver than a receiver, suddenly found herself as the primary caregiver of a dear family member. She picked the Rose Ray of Soul Belonging. She chose to continue nurturing her own life, making arrangements to travel with a friend so she could remain balanced and healthy.

I listen deeply. I attune to your field. I work with the Living Rays of Light and the wisdom of your soul Together, we discover the patterns, possibilities, and pathways ready to emerge. Often we laugh. Sometimes we cry. And together, we create lasting change.

Perhaps it's time to discover which Living Ray is ready to illuminate your path. I’d love to see you in my sanctuary.

Send me a dm and let’s chat.

Welcome in!
