Shaker Run Golf Club

Friday was a beautiful day at the course. There's lots of great golf ⛳️ to be played this weekend.

Should be a great weekend for getting in a few rounds.

As I work with a lot of businesses and golf courses around the country, one of the things I am constantly teaching managers is the importance of seeing themselves as being in the “GOLF EXPERIENCE business versus the “GOLF COURSE” business.

And one of the most important elements in creating a great golf EXPERIENCE begins with the check-in process at the Pro Shop.

Shaker Run has been blessed with a great staff of amazing team members that help create that great overall golf experience for our members as well as our guests.

One of our favorite team members is Avery Roethlisberger.
A 2025 graduate of Bishop Fenwick High School, she is currently studying psychology at the University of Cincinnati.

She began working in the pro shop in 2025 and she does a wonderful job of making golfers feel APPRECIATED versus TOLERATED as some pretentious courses tend to do.

In her own words, Avery’s favorite part of working at Shaker Run has been connecting with our members and regulars whether it’s about the awesome round they just had, how many balls they just lost or something about their lives!

Avery also has an incredible ability to remember and address members by their names when they walk in. Her attitude and positivity are joy to have on our team, and she is just one of many team members we will be highlighting over the next few weeks.

It was a beautiful day at SRGC and the ending was perfect 👌
