The Nautilus XPLOAD Vertical Chest Press was built to keep the chest working through more of the rep—from the deep stretch to the final squeeze.
Most plate-loaded presses use one basic lever. As that lever moves, the weight can feel brutal in one spot and much easier in another.
The XPLOAD uses a four-bar linkage. This set of moving arms changes the leverage as you press. In simple terms, it helps keep the resistance smoother so your pecs stay under tension instead of losing the load halfway through the rep.
The arms also move inward as you press. This is called a converging motion. It lets you drive the handles toward the center of your body and finish each rep with a harder chest squeeze.
Each arm moves on its own. Your stronger side cannot do all the work for your weaker side, and you can train one arm at a time to bring up an imbalance.
The adjustable back pad lets you choose your starting depth. Set it farther back for a deeper stretch, or move it forward for a shorter starting position.
Multiple grips also help you find the hand position that feels strongest on your wrists and shoulders.
Everything supports the same goal: load the pecs, keep them working, and push them close to failure with control.
