WHAT. A. GAME. 🔥🥎

First game of the fall. First game with this new squad. And a pretty great glimpse of what this group can be.

Our bats were asleep for five innings, but our pitching and defense kept us right there. The defense was awesome. Crisp, clean and aggressive. Our pitchers threw strikes, attacked the zone early and trusted the defense behind them. That was one of our biggest focuses in the circle coming into the fall: want contact. They did exactly that tonight.

And then came the 6th…

💥 A 12-SPOT. 💥

Timely hits. Patient at-bats. Aggressive, smart base running. One good AB after another, and suddenly the fireworks went off.

Some shout-outs from a really fun night:

🥎 #32 was slick at short and solid in the circle!

🥎 #12 was a presence. Good ABs all night, and she’ll get the ball in Game 1 tomorrow.

🥎 #11 kicked some you-know-what. 😂 She hit, pitched AND caught a great game. Absolutely love her energy.

🥎 #10 started our rally with a HUGE knock in the 6th. She’s getting more confident every time she steps in the box and becoming such a reliable bat.

🥎 #8 came through with a huge, timely hit and ran like she always does. Just a really solid ballplayer.

🥎 #99 had a big knock and caught like a machine!

🥎 #7 roped a big hit during the rally and got us started in the circle. Threw the ball very well.

🥎 #24 swings a BIG bat. Love the way she owns the box when she steps in, and she’s been fantastic at 1B.

🥎 #21 it was only a matter of time. This kid RAKES. The consummate ballplayer, and she delivered a big hit in that rally.

🥎 #15 stepped in at 2B for us tonight and caught well. Such a versatile player, and she’s always a threat at the plate.

But my favorite part wasn’t the 12 runs.

It was everything that happened before them.

We kept it close. We stayed in the game. We clawed back.

There are nights when everything goes right and nights when not much does. The key is not getting caught up in either one and forgetting the process.

You just grind.
You keep competing.
You never stop getting after it.

Or, as we say with the Aces…

BE RELENTLESS.

They certainly were tonight.

👏🥎 Congrats to our multi-sport ACES for making school teams this fall! 🏑🏐

We love seeing our talented young ladies getting after it in other sports!

#21, #10 and #23 are out there competing on the field hockey field this fall, representing Shen and Stixx and #15 met up on the volleyball court today at Shen!

Different fields. Different courts. Same competitors. 💪

Every sport makes you a better athlete, a better teammate and a better competitor and we’re proud to see our girls challenging themselves, staying active and representing the Aces everywhere they go.

Keep getting after it, ladies! LG ACES!

Six practices in. 100% participation.

Think about that for a second.

Half of this team is playing modified or school sports. Some of these girls live nearly an hour away. Every one of them has school, family, activities and other commitments competing for their time.

And yet, every practice, they show up.

That says a lot about this group, their commitment, their energy, and what they’re willing to give to each other. Six practices is a small sample, but I already know this is a remarkable group of young ladies.

And a huge thank you to our parents. None of this happens without your sacrifice, your driving, your support and your willingness to make this team a priority. Thank you for trusting us and for giving me the privilege of coaching your daughters. I don’t take that responsibility for granted.

Friday night, we finally get to go to battle together. Then we get a whole weekend to find out what this group can become.

Grateful for this team. Proud to be their coach.

This weekend is more than our first tournament of the fall, it’s the first time this new group gets to compete together. And it feels like the beginning of something special.

We have an amazing core of players who have embraced what being an Ace is about, our values, our standards, and the first principles that guide everything we do. They work, they compete, they support one another, and they keep raising the bar.

And now we add two new superstars who have already shown us that this is exactly where they belong. They bring talent, competitiveness, energy and a desire to get better, the kind of players who don’t just make a roster stronger, they pull everyone around them up.

I love what this group is becoming. I love what our new additions bring to it. And I can’t wait to see all of them bring it together for the first time this weekend.

New roster. Same standards. The beginning of something special. See you all this weekend in Malta!

This team is bringing it. Two great practices already this week… energy, effort, focus and a relentless approach to getting better. They work, they compete, and they push each other.
