Day 2 Qualifying Recap:

Simba bowled 163-174-180-158 for 675. He had a rough day, I'm proud of him for fighting through all 4 games.

Simba dropped from 48th to 68th. We still have two days left of qualifying.

He was very upset with himself. We had a honest conversation which was very positive.

I told him to trust his training and live with the results.

Round 3, we gotta grind!

Simba is looking good and feeling! We gotta start fast out the gate.

Locked and loaded!

Simba will be on the live stream today at 4PM central time for game 1 and possibly game 3.

Day 1 Qualifying Recap: Simba bowled 179-161-183-193 = 716. Currently sitting in 48th place out of 388 U14 Boys.

Simba had a slow start, then started to pick up the pace. He was nervous, which is normal. This is a huge stage for these young athletes. We performed some mental exercises to help him relax.

Simba has a lot more juice, my job is to help him let it flow. It's hard to sit on my hands as a Dad, while putting on my coaching hat. I'm being challenged as well.

Hopefully he can improve his start today and improve his standing position.

The top 55 advance to the advancer round on Friday.

One ball at a time, this is our focus for today!

Qualifying starts tonight for these two young men.

Simba and Alex had a conversation about the game plan for tonight. They are very confident, they dapped each other up and said we got this! That was a beautiful thing to see!

It's that time of the year!

Time to show what we have been working on, two great practice sessions today. Simba wanted BBQ, Simba got BBQ.

He has two more practice sessions tomorrow, then competition / qualifying starts Monday - Thursday.

It is go time!

Late Post...

A few pictures from my time at Nationals. I had fun reconnecting with familiar faces and meeting new people.

Bowling:

I missed to many spares and couldn't get the right feel. My hand swelled due to the weather, I was able to wedge my fingers into the ball enough. However, my thumb was in between two different sizes. Yes I added tape, some how I ripped my thumb on the top even with adding a piece of black tape. No excuses, Nationals got the best of me. I managed to get to 1645 for all events, I'll take it.

Bowling from 9:30 PM to 6:30AM Eastern Standard Time was very challenging. Yeah, I kind of lost my marbles.

I had so much fun, the shenanigans were taken place every minute of the day(s). I was with a great group of people, I'm looking forward to next year.
