Some of the most important progress happens quietly, in the rides nobody sees and the little wins that will never make it to Instagram.

So if things feel slow right now, don’t confuse slow with stuck. Keep showing up. Keep learning. Keep celebrating the small things. And when you start losing your inspiration, go back to the reason you started in the first place.

The Hunters Edge Riding School is welcoming new riders of all ages from adults to children 4+!

From their very first ride to their first horse show, our program is built around more than learning to ride. We teach horsemanship, responsibility, confidence, kindness, and a genuine love for the horse.

There are a lot of lessons we teach from the rail that have very little to do with finding the perfect distance.

We want our riders to become better horsemen. Better teammates. Better competitors. We want them to learn how to work through the hard days, stay humble on the great ones, take responsibility, ask questions, and always put the horse at the center of it all.

The ribbons are fun. Moving up is exciting. Winning feels good. But those things will never be the whole measure of a rider.

Because long after the round is over, it’s the work ethic, the horsemanship, the resilience, and the character that matter most.

This sport has a funny way of making us believe everything is a measurement.

How high you jump.
How expensive your horse is.
How many ribbons you win.
What division you show in.
What barn you ride at.
How often you show.
Who knows your name.

And somewhere along the way, it can start to feel like those things determine where you belong.

They don’t.

Ride the horse you have. Jump the jumps that challenge you. Celebrate someone else’s win. Be proud of your progress, even when nobody else sees it. Take care of your horse. Be kind at the back gate. Cheer for your friends. Learn from the hard days.

There will always be someone with more money, a fancier horse, a bigger jump or a longer list of accomplishments. Chasing those things as proof that you’re enough is a race you’ll never finish.

God didn’t put you here to spend your life comparing your chapter to someone else’s. Keep your eyes on your own path, love your horses well, work hard, stay humble and trust where He’s leading you.

Welcome home, Callie 🤍

Caletta S has officially arrived at HE South to begin her well-earned retirement, and what a career she’s had. From jumping the big tracks to carrying not one, but two special HE riders, Dana and Courtney, to confidence, speed, and more blue ribbons than we can count… she’s been nothing short of extraordinary.

Horses like Callie don’t just win they build riders, shape careers, and leave a lasting mark on everyone lucky enough to know them.

Courtney, thank you for trusting us with her next chapter. It’s an honor to give a mare like this the peaceful, beautiful retirement she deserves.

Here’s to the golden years, sweet girl—you’ve more than earned them ✨
