POSSIBLE MAIL THEFT ALERT

Homeowners & Patrol reported noticing many residents’ mailboxes were open on the streets indicated above.

At this time, we have not confirmed that any mail theft has occurred, nor do we know whether this is isolated to these streets or extends to other areas of the community. However, this is the only area that has been brought to our attention.
As a precaution, I encourage all residents to remain vigilant and take a few simple steps to help protect their mail and personal information.

Report Any Suspicious Activity: If you see anyone tampering with mailboxes to Las Vegas Metro Police Department at 911 immediately.

If You Believe Your Mail Has Been Stolen or Your Mailbox Has Been Tampered With: Report the theft to the Las Vegas Metro Police Department by calling 311. Report the incident to the U.S. Postal Inspection Service (USPIS), this is the federal law enforcement agency responsible for protecting the U.S. Mail, by filing a report online at www.usps .com or calling 1-877-876-2455.

Sign Up for USPS Informed Delivery: The U.S. Postal Service offers Informed Delivery, a free service that sends you a daily email showing images of the letter-sized mail expected to arrive within a few days, along with updates on incoming packages. This allows you to know what should be in your mailbox and quickly identify if something is missing. Most residential addresses are eligible for this service. You can sign up by creating or logging on to your USPS account and enrolling in Informed Delivery. The USPS website is www.usps.com.

Pick Up Your Mail Every Day: Avoid allowing mail to accumulate in your mailbox.
Do Not Leave Outgoing Mail in Your Mailbox Overnight: A raised mailbox flag after the days mail delivery or on days there is no mail delivery signals to thieves that outgoing mail, possibly including checks, is in the mailbox.

Whenever Possible Use Official USPS Collection Boxes: Whenever possible, mail letters and checks at the US Post Office or an official USPS Collection Box (the blue boxes). There are “blue” boxes located in the parking lots at Desert Vista Community Center (pick up at 10:00 am), Pinnacle Community Center (pick up at 10:00 am) and Mountain Shadows Community Center (pick up at 2:00 pm). None of these locations have pick up on Sundays or Holidays.

Consider Using Online Bill Receipt and Payment: To protect your account information and the mailing of checks consider going paperless and receive and pay your bills online.

Consider Installing a Locking Mailbox: SCSCAI has approved locking mailboxes for the community. Although you need to submit an application to the Architectural Review Committee to make any exterior changes (including changing your mailbox), this is an easy and fast process. You can do this online or in person at the Community Standards office. If you are looking for someone to do the work, check out the Link Magazine for services who do this kind of work. Locking mailboxes provide an added layer of protection while still allowing mail to be delivered.

A little reminder of what’s waiting on the other side of overseed. 🌱⛳️

Palm Valley, Highland Falls and Eagle Crest will be closed beginning Tuesday, September 8 and are scheduled to reopen Tuesday, September 29 for our annual fall overseed.

During those three weeks, our greenskeeping teams will be putting in countless hours to transition the courses and prepare them for the incredible fall and winter playing conditions we look forward to each year. It’s a huge undertaking, and we’re grateful for all the hard work that happens behind the scenes.

In the meantime, be sure to book your tee times for next week and get a few more rounds in before the closure! 🏌️‍♂️

This was Golf Summerlin after overseed last season… and we can’t wait to see it again. 👏

Time: No Specific Time Given

Details: (These are ALL of the details we have at this time)

• Homeowner did not realize the vehicle had been broken into until approximately 10:20 am on 08.27.2026
• Vehicle was parked on street overnight
• No obvious sign of break-in
• Medical bag missing
• Glovebox and center console had been rummaged through
• Nothing in the vehicle was destroyed
• Metro was informed
