Have to send out a huge thank you to Dale Loewen for having fuel in stock and letting me pick it up after hours so we could get on the dyno last night to check everything over.

Well, have a few hours of wiring to finish up then sensor testing BUT SHE’S ALIVE! What a relief!!! 😅 Even have working working lights and interior / under car lighting for those late night sessions. Back at it tomorrow!

Countdown is on now, work has been insane, but back to the old girl this weekend with the goal of have her on the ground running by Sunday. Great progress tonight, the new MAD Racing Parts Smart Sensor Hubs have all the sensors wired into them. Tomorrow morning I’ll build the mini harnesses between the Holley Performance Brands Dominator and the Sensor hubs, and get the steering wheel buttons back wired up. From there it’s a few hrs of testing everything

Decided to do a last minute upgrade on the sensor wiring and upgraded to the new MAD Racing Parts Smart Sensor Hub. We previously had their 8 port blocks but I like the extra protection of the individual circuit protection. Time to wrap things up know that these have arrived and get the car running.

Came across some pics from Gimli back in 2002. She was a real deal street car back then. Trevor drove the car to the track and back, when he got his 9sec NHRA competition license.

Another 10 ish hrs on the old girl today and honestly looking at the pics, it’s pretty hard to tell. Got the bump switches installed finally after having them sit in a box for years, will make running the valves much quicker. The rest of the day was spent working on the wiring at the panel. At this point the plywood has received so many comments I almost don’t want to remove it. 🤪. Probably another 10-12 hrs to get all the sensors wired back to their blocks and tie in the steering wheel buttons and taillights.

Long day but making some decent progress, new engine harness is all in place, new coils & plug wires are in and completed, completed the new switch panel and got that in place, started routing everything back to the new ECU location. (NO THE PLYWOOD ISN’T PERMANENT🤪, it just until I have everything 100%, I’ve been moving some piece around and it’s much easier this way. Tomorrow on to terminating all the sensors back into the Mad Racing Sensor blocks. It’s definitely far from perfect but it’s coming together slowly.

Well in less then 7 days the goal is to bring her back where the entire journey racing and where Trevor & I met, over a broken mostly stock 5.0 We extremely excited for Sheldon Root to bring back Motion Performance Raceway to Gimli and taking Drag Racing in Manitoba to the next level. I’ve definitely got some work ahead of me but, I’m going to do what I can to make it happen. We’re not looking to set any records with the new surface, just have some fun with our local family and friends.
