I've always found it very interesting, when people comment that Taekwondo has no throws. Traced back, Tang Soo Do came from Karate, especially Shotokan, which had throws. Since I was a young child, I learned throwing techniques not only through Hapkido, but Taekwondo as well. I consider myself and my students fortunate to be under the lineage of Grandmaster Kang Myung Kyu (10th Dan Taekwondo Moo Duk Kwan), a visionary, who was open to combining anything that worked into his Taekwondo curriculum. Most photos of him will show him wearing a Judo Gi, as he had a physical education degree from the Seoul Yudo College.
