*PROMOTIONAL ANNOUNCEMENT*
The members of the Lancaster City Professional Firefighters would like to congratulate FF Luis Acevedo on his promotion to Lieutenant.
LT. Acevedo served as both the 1st and 2nd driver of Engine Co 2 D platoon, then the first driver of Engine 2 A platoon until the closure of Station 6 in 2024. After the closure, LT. Acevedo became the 1st driver of Squad 1 D Platoon. He will now serve in the Fire Marshal Division.
Congratulations, Lieutenant Acevedo!
Last night C shift handled 29 calls for service in the city and surrounding municipalities largely due to impacts from last night’s storms. Members responded to calls ranging from Residential rescues, to building fires, to gas leaks.

The area of Third Street and Manor Street is currently closed due to an ongoing police incident. There is believed to be no threat to the public. The public is asked to avoid the area until further notice. Those living in the vicinity should stay inside or check with a uniformed officer before exiting their home. Shortly after returning to service from the fire on Locust St, Engine 3 was dispatched to a dumpster fire at King St/Duke St. LCWC received numerous calls reporting a large construction dumpster with a large fire approximately 10 ft from a building. Engine 3 arrived and confirmed the report. Ladder 1 has been added for manpower. Please avoid the area.

Just after 5pm, City Fire units were dispatched to the 100 block of Locust St for a house fire.
Engine 3 arrived to find smoke showing from the rear of a 3 story middle of the row. Crews found a working fire on the second floor and placed one line in service. Crews operated for 90 minutes before returning to service.

Here are some photos from yesterday’s technical rescue at Dutch Wonderland. While Tower 2 rescued 5 people from 2 different cars, members of the Rescue Task Force removed numerous patients via rope systems.
Outstanding work by every company involved. In the end there were no major injuries to any parties involved.
