📣 ANNOUNCEMENT: DRIVE FOR THE TIGERS IS BACK ON! 🐯⛳

We’re excited to announce that the Lake City Chamber of Commerce Annual Golf Tournament – Drive for the Tigers has officially been RESCHEDULED for Thursday, October 15th at The Jewel Golf Club!

All scheduled tournament activities will take place on the new date. We’re looking forward to a great fall day of golf, camaraderie, and supporting the Lake City Chamber of Commerce Community Pride Scholarship Fund.

🚨 DRIVE FOR THE TIGERS – EVENT UPDATE 🚨

Unfortunately, Mother Nature isn’t cooperating with us this Friday. With significant rainfall in the forecast and the impact it will have on course conditions, the Lake City Chamber of Commerce Drive for the Tigers Golf Tournament scheduled for Friday, September 18th has been CANCELED. 🌧️⛳

While we are disappointed we won’t be able to host everyone as planned, providing a safe and enjoyable experience for our golfers, volunteers, vendors, and sponsors is our priority.

What happens next? The Lake City Chamber of Commerce and The Jewel Golf Club will be discussing potential options for the event, including the possibility of a rescheduled date. Additional information will be shared once those plans are finalized.

A huge THANK YOU to all of the golfers, sponsors, volunteers, vendors, and local businesses who have supported this event and the Chamber’s Community Pride Scholarship Fund. 🐯🧡

Every great golf course has a strong team behind the scenes who makes it all possible.

Our head superintendent, Lucas, and his dedicated team put in the work every day to make The Jewel one of Minnesota’s top-ranked courses, year after year.

If you have been here, you have seen them hard at work. Early mornings. Long days. Quiet and intentional. Attentive to every detail.

All to ensure that our members and guests can enjoy The Jewel Golf Club at its best.

World-class conditions do not happen by themselves. We are grateful today and every day for our superintendent, maintenance, and grounds team.

Some greens are worth photographing for the green. Others are worth photographing for everything around them.

Played The Jewel Golf Club in Lake City yesterday and brought the camera along, and the 13th green gave me one of those moments that makes stopping for a photo pretty easy.

Designed by three-time U.S. Open champion Hale Irwin, The Jewel winds through about 800 acres of Mississippi River valley terrain, with the bluffs, woods, and elevation changes becoming a big part of the experience.

Standing behind the 13th green, with the sun working through the trees and the bluff rising behind it, it was hard not to stop and take a few frames.

That's one of my favorite things about photographing golf courses. You start looking at a hole differently. Not just where the tee shot goes or where the flag is, but how the light hits the trees, how the land frames the green, and how all of those pieces come together in a photograph.

The Jewel has plenty of those moments.

I'm already looking forward to coming back with the camera and seeing what different angles and different light can do with this course.

September may mean aerification at many courses, but NOT at The Jewel! Our greens will remain smooth, blemish-free, and in immaculate condition until the snow flies.
