WHAT IF YOUR CHILD’S SYMPTOMS ARE TELLING YOU TO LOOK DEEPER?

Motor tics. Sudden behavior changes. Anxiety. OCD-like behaviors. Skin rashes. Cognitive or speech concerns. Even seizures.

These symptoms can have many causes—but one potential contributor that may be overlooked is exposure to ochratoxin A.

Ochratoxin A is not a fungus itself. It is a mycotoxin produced by certain Aspergillus and Penicillium molds. Exposure may occur through water-damaged environments or contaminated foods, including improperly stored rice, grains, cereals, flour, coffee, cocoa, dried fruit, and spices.

Research suggests ochratoxin A can contribute to oxidative stress, immune activation, and inflammation—but exposure alone does not prove that it caused a child’s symptoms or diagnose autism, PANS, OCD, or any neurological condition.

The message is to TEST. MEASURE. AND LOOK BEYOND THE LABEL.

Sometimes the bladder isn’t the whole story.

A retained Spinal Galant reflex, poor core stability, altered body awareness/proprioception, or—in select cases—neuroimmune conditions such as PANS/PANDAS may be pieces worth investigating.

Instead of only asking, “How do we stop the bedwetting?”
Ask: “WHY is this still happening?”
