🥋🌟 STUDENT SPOTLIGHT — EMORY! 🌟🥋

Emory is an AMAZING student!

Not only are her manners and focus on point, but she has a genuine desire to learn Jiu-Jitsu.

She asks great questions, listens carefully to her coaches, and really puts effort into understanding what she’s learning.

That combination of curiosity, focus, respect, and hard work is exactly what we love to see on our mats!

We are incredibly proud to have students like Emory representing Blind Fury Jiu-Jitsu! 🥋❤️

Keep up the great work, Emory! We’re proud of you! 👏🔥

Have you ever had a magical night at Jiu-Jitsu?

No matter how many times I teach the same subject, I’m still amazed by the ability of people to learn, adapt, and figure things out.

The way I teach adults now is based heavily on what I’ve learned about high-level coaching over the years.

I’m not trying to be the sage on the stage.

I’m trying to create a learning experience.

Jiu-Jitsu is complicated—at least at first. After you’ve spent enough years doing it, many of the things that once seemed impossible start to feel simple.

But as a coach, you can’t forget what it felt like when they weren’t simple.

And every once in a while, you have one of those nights where you can almost see the light bulbs coming on around the room.

People start experimenting. They start solving problems. Things begin connecting.

And then you see that moment:

“Wait… I can actually do this.”

That’s the magic.

It’s not about how much the instructor knows. It’s about whether learning actually occurred.

Tonight was one of those nights.

And no matter how long I teach Jiu-Jitsu, I don’t think I’ll ever get tired of watching that happen.
