There's always gonna be a million reasons to stay right where you are.Because it's familiar, it's comfortable, and you know exactly what to expect.

But so many of the best decisions I've made started with taking a step BEFORE I felt completely ready.

Starting my business. Investing in myself. Trying new things(and failing a lot). Putting myself out there. Trusting my ideas enough to take action on them and just see where they go.

Sometimes you don't need to see the whole path to take that first step...ya just need a little courage and the willingness to try. ✨

There are still days when I walk into my office, turn on my podcast sign, and think about how much my work life has changed. I wonder sometimes what life would be like if I never made the decision to start my own business...and I'm instantly grateful for the choice I made to do the work that I love most.

I get to coach incredible women, create things all the time, have conversations that matter, record a podcast I genuinely love, AND do it all from a space just a few steps from my family.💛

This is the kind of work life I wanted to create for myself. And getting to actually live it feels pretty damn good. ✨

Say this out loud with me: Dear Self: Your life doesn't need to be optimized every minute of every day. You have my permission to pause.

I have to tell myself this often. What's usually happening in my brain as I'm walking from point A to point B is: "What can I grab or do on the way there to be more efficient?"

So, while I'm bringing toys to my daughters room I'll notice something that needs to be put back in the bathroom on the way there so I can't help but grab it to knock out two tasks at once. This is my brain constantly pushing me to be more efficient.

But efficiency isn't always what you need. Sometimes you just need to slow down and allow yourself to just do things at a normal pace instead of like you're trying to break some new time record for the day each day.

I swear yall, I don't often compete with others but I compete with myself on a daily basis and it can be exhausting. 🫠 Can anyone relate?!

Something I've learned the hard way and I continue to learn in different ways as life goes on is that my ambition doesn't have to mean that I'm always in a constant state of urgency.

So take it from me mama. Pause. Breathe. Regulate your nervous system MULTIPLE times a day. You need it. And everyone you love so much around you needs it too. 💛

I'll be honest...I'm somewhat of a busy body and I get all caught up in the productivity oriented mindset all too often. I'm always thinking about what I need to DO next. I thrive on staying busy and having a lot to "show for my day" when it's over.

Can you relate?

I don't often find myself thinking about what I NEED in the moment.
But it's this exact question that if we started to ask more of...it could change the way we live.
And it could change how we show up for everyone and everything else in our lives for the better.✨

Sometimes I can’t even believe that this is actually my life. 💛

Working from home and being able to take care of my girlie at the same time was all I ever wanted.

It was the “AND Life” I used to only dream about.

Then I started to ask myself how?

How could I run a business from home AND be a present Mama for my baby?

I figured it out for myself.✨

And ya know what’s amazing? That AND life you’re dreaming of for yourself?

17 YEARS.🤯

That's how long today's guest, Amanda Hudson Romero, Owner of Tush-A-Roo, carried an idea from "Theres has to be a better way" to finally putting her product out into the world.

It started when she was an exhausted, overstimulated mom chasing around her very active 9 month old and trying to solve a problem she couldn’t find a solution for.

What came next was a journey she never could have anticipated…

A patent. Prototypes. Engineers. Manufacturing issues. A failed order of 3,000 products. COVID supply shortages. A massive learning curve. A whole lot of money invested. Naysayers who told her she was wasting her time. And plenty of moments when she wondered if she should just give up.

But she kept on figuring out the next thing in front of her.

And while she was building her dream, she was also raising three kids. She and her husband made the intentional decision to slow down when they needed to, protect their family from the sacrifices they were making, and allow the business to grow on a timeline that worked for their life.

There is SO much wisdom in this conversation for any mom who has an idea she can’t shake or a dream that’s taking a whole lot longer than she thought it would.
