STORY 20:

September 11, 2001 is a day I will never forget. As our country faced unimaginable heartbreak, I was also beginning to build a dream—the studio that is our current location was in the final steps of completion on this day. The place that would become such a meaningful part of my life. Looking back, I’m reminded of the strength, resilience, and hope that came from such a difficult time. Today, I honor those we lost, remember the heroes, and remain grateful for the journey and the beautiful dance family this dream has created. 🇺🇸❤️ Never forget. — Mrs. Stephanie

STORY 19:

A few years ago, our DWCC Team attended Streetz Nationals in the Woodlands, TX. What we were not expecting was the hurricane that came rushing through! The event ended up having to be completely cancelled, but those that arrived a few days early were still able to make a little trip out of it! One of our seniors that year was able to compete her solo, but that was the only routine of DW’s that saw the stage. We are so glad that everyone was okay, but it was definitely a historic moment for DW!

For a while at DW, a few dancers were selected each month to be our “DW Students of the Month”! It was for those dancers who had been working extra hard and stuck out to their teachers in classes! One month, Mr. D was Ms. Gracey’s Student of the Month! We are so grateful to still have these two amazing dancers and teachers on our staff!

Who remembers our second location, ‘Studio C’? We sure do! It was a great extra space for our dancers to rehearse and have classes! Before classes could even start, we had to make sure it was dance ready for you all. We had a sprung floor with Marley flooring put in. Back in 2005, DW’s recital theme was “Fly First Class” and we went over and beyond to get the perfect staff picture for our program! This amazing picture was taken at the Lafayette Airport on the tarmac with a plane they had on standby! This will always be one of our favorites📸

STORY 13:

Throwback to our COVID Dance Recital!! What a crazy year that was… we were not able to have our performance on Mother’s Day like every year and also couldn’t have an audience! We had our entire studio make signs for our dancers to see while they were dancing and our recital was pushed back until August of that year.
