Proud to work with North Thuston High School & the folloiwng schools: Chinook Middle School, Southbay, Pleasant Glade, Lacey, & Mountain View Elementary. The Thurston County Youth Football League is a non-profit organization that has the sole purpose of providing youth football and cheerleading in Thurston County and South Sound areas for youth between the ages of 5 and 14. The TCYFL Rams Cheer program is dedicated to the bringing these girls and boys the awesome skills of dancing, showmanship, self-confidence, courage and perseverance! TCYFL Rams Represents these schools, their families and the community:

Why is Cheerleading so important? I want to help empower my squads as much as I can. And when it comes to cheer, I can literally watch as mastering new skills builds my own girls self-esteem as much as it builds their muscles. Getting on a field/stage and dancing their hearts out in front of hundreds of people is going to help most cheerleading children grow into teenagers and adults who are more prepared to stand up and face whatever assignments, presentations, and public speaking that come in their lives. PROVIDES EXERCISE AND INCREASES FLEXIBILITY, BALANCE, ENDURANCE, AND MORE! Kids need exercise and a ton of it! With limited PE and time to run through neighborhoods cheer is an excellent source of exercise while also teaching flexibility, balance, strength and more! BUILDS A TEAM! The kids learn to be responsible to their teammates. They can’t skip practices or competitions and let down their teammates. They work together, perform together, and celebrate together. There are some great benefits to being part of a team. CHEERLEADING IS FUN! They work hard, they push themselves, they learn new skills, but at the heart of it all, cheer is about celebrating life and having fun together. CROWD LEADERS! The cheerleaders are the connection between the fans and the athletic team. The energy and enthusiasm produced by the crowd can rally a sports team to play better and boost overall morale. It is the cheerleading team’s task to unify the crowd in its efforts.
