Back in the saddle! Recognize this one??
Miss Aspen here is getting a maintenance ride. She is such a willing horse and lots of fun to take out on the trail 🌠
But without consistent work horses can fall back into their old ways.

A horse needs regular work and consistent expectations in order to stay functional in our human lives. And I am happy to keep her going good for her family! 😊

In our lesson we focused on a beginner dressage test. And she did wonderfully!
Not only did she hit all the marks, she got to accomplish something with her horse!
It was wonderful to see how much she enjoyed the challenge 💫

Wendy had a wonderful session the other day! Typically during the initial week when I get a horse in for training, I focus on ground work.

Liberty is the ultimate option, letting you and the horse connect without a rope or other equipment to muddle the "bones" of what your relationship is. 💫
(Or their impression of you is)

To explain further sometimes a horse is trained really well with certain equipment but given the opportunity to walk away because there is no physical restraint between us, they act a completely different way.
I was happy to see Wendy's willingness to "be" with a human versus worry about other external stimuli. This is a snippet from the end of our session🙂

Snickers was happy to get all brushed off and proud of Evie's accomplishments today, afterall, he's giving her the chance to fly💕🐴

We had a really great time with the horses!
We didn't see nearly as many wild animals in the brush as we did last time.
Mooches was showing off her "good" side (all of her sides are perfect🙂) and Summer got a chance to scale a hill with me today.
Such a fun filled ride!
We even checked out an old style mini cabin out in the woods. And to finish off the ride we tried both horses without a saddle!
Believe it or not.. some horses react very differently when they feel a rider ba****ck, versus a rider in the saddle. And miss Mooches had a history of being reactive to a ba****ck rider. She did wonderfully and so did Eyela.
Splendid ride today!
