Looking sporty in the heat race last Friday at peru.... last lap pass when 2nd place had a little trouble with the cushion in turn 4 one too many times.... this is a good example of making a pass at the right time....

Well, this short season so far has been up and down, with a glaring (well, that could have been worse, kind of feel) most of the time. Once again ,we sit with a misplaced but still useable front nose wing, from getting in someone elses crash in front of us, along with about 6 other cars , caused by the same car that put us in a bad A main starting spot with a bonzai, shove it in , last lap move in the heat race, followed by an almost expected (sorry about that) apology. Not a huge deal, but if you hear apologies every week, and you dont have to hand them out like candy like the others do, is it time to be a bit more aggressive yourself, or is it better to be the clean racer, learning , respecting the equipment, and earning the trust of the other people you are on the track with?

Being so delayed getting started this season really set us back, but being competitive as Seger is after 11 races, we are proud of where he is, he just has to be a bit more aggressive at times it seems.

Several times already this season, losing a spot at the end of a heat race due to someone else being overly aggressive, put us toward the back of the pack , and in harms way to be involved in other people's issues, which would have otherwise been prevented , had we started in the top half of the field, where it seems we belong most nights.

With that all being said..... knock on wood , we're not having a bad (shortened) season, as after 11 races , Seger has 0 Dnfs, finished every lap, has only missed the A main 1 time (his first race night) , and only been lapped one night i think. About half the time hes in the top 10, and only bent up a few nose wings, and a front axle a time or 2, from accidents in front of us.

In comparison, to some who keep tearing alot of parts up, we're not in too bad of a shape yet, so we will take it, and try to keep improving each week.

Now to clean this 4 lbs of U.S. 24 dirt off the car before it turns into concrete, with next weekend off. Hopefully we dont locate any other damage from the crash last night, but I dont expect too much as Seger was still able to restart, and pass a few cars by the end of the race (17th- 14th).

Thank you to the staff at U.S. 24 and Miami County Raceways for giving it their all this weekend , and providing 2 race nights for us to run, when alot of other tracks would have canceled.

Race #6 last night, and the 3rd race for Seger at Miami county raceway.

Started 6th in the heat race, and ended up gaining 2 positions by the end ,due to not so great circumstances for friend Kaesyn Jarvis catching an infield tire and flipping , and then passing Easton etherington on the final lap for a 4th place finish, locking us into the A main.

Seger would start 9th in the A main, only to be caught up in a mess in front of him, only a couple few laps into the race, climbing up the left side of lane white, stopping the progress, and bending the front axle pretty good, out of no fault of his own. Stuff happens , and this is a perfect example of it. Nothing that any of them could do to avoid it.

After the race and talking to our driver, he conveyed that the car got MUCH better AFTER the crash.... meaning I simply had the car too tight!!!

The track was a bit tricky to read last night again, as it had some slick spots , but also had grip in alot of places.

After the crash seger had to go to the back of course, but fought, and stayed clean the rest of the race and ended up 10th!

We will catch another good break at some point, and we have to wonder where we would have finished had we not got caught up in that crash, since all the other incidents in the race, we missed, and all were involving cars in front of us.

A top 5 would be a reasonable guess, but it just didn't happen this time.

Not a bad night, somewhat in one peice yet for tonights race at U.S. 24!

Now the race is on, with maybe 6 hours sleep total in the past 48 hours, I bet we sleep in tomorrow, but who needs sleep anyway!

Time to get this thing shined up, tuned up, and repaired for tonight, for the Carol Smith Memorial at U.S. 24!

Spent some time at the doctor today..... as we had a bit of a fueling issue after the last race, but nothing Brad Colema...

A bit of a tumultuous evening last Saturday, but all in all , we cant complain too much. Tried to rip the top in the heat race an lost a spot, putting us in the B main, where we turned the fastest lap of the race, then started 12th i beleive in the A main... when Seger saw a skirmish on the start ahead of him and lost a few spots being cautious, but fought back up to 12th before being spun out off turn 2, after passing 4 cars in just a few laps charging forward... what are you to do , but keep going, realizing not everyone is taught the same drivers etiquette , same story for the past 4 years with that one, but seger took notice. The last time something like this happend, it didn't end well for the other kid, and we won the Indiana State series quarter midget JR honda Championship, so I guess we will just wait and see what happens! We can sleep at night knowing Seger is a respectable driver and takes care of his and others equipment as best as he can while being cautiously aggressive. That will go farther than $ at some point .

On to the next one!

If you want to be successful, it's every day, that ends in the word DaY.

Maintaining a racecar is a full time job in itself, and the ones up front already know that!

We had an awesome 2nd week in the Micro, and ill be updating the page once I can sit down and process it all after cleaning everything up!
