Everybody's game is borrowed from somebody. Maybe you've got Ben Johns' patience in the kitchen. Maybe you just want Anna Leigh Waters' hands at the net. Maybe you watched one Tyson McGuffin highlight and decided you can speed up every ball now. You cannot, but we respect the confidence. So here's the question. Who's your pro? It's time for Real Pickleball Heroes. Today, we salute you, The Paddle Sommelier. Every group of pickleball friends has that one person who shows up with more paddles than the pro shop. Five paddles minimum, each one for a different feel. They will hand you one mid-game like they are pouring you a glass of wine. "Try this one, it has a softer face." You cannot tell the difference. You will nod like you can. Today, we salute you, curator of the Carbon Fiber and the only person we know who can properly pronounce the word "Joola" (we think). You have spent more on paddles than most people spend on a car, and you would do it again tomorrow.
