Circle Modern Dance

Circle Modern Dance is excited to host our first Hip Hop Workshop!

July 19th
July 26th

From 11:30 AM to 1:00 PM at TCFA

The cost of attending the 3-part series is $45 total.

The workshop will be lead by Annell, a Circle Modern Dance core member.

-The workshop is for adults 18+
-Consists of basic footwork and upper body movement
-Open to all experience levels, including beginners
-Each class will conclude by learning a section of choreography
-Attending all three dates is encouraged as material builds
-Non-street shoes (preferably flat soled) recommended

Core spotlight: Winter

Winter has been dancing with since 2022 and has been a core member for 3 years. Their favorite class is improv and they enjoy anything that involves rolling or spinning around.
When they’re not dancing, you can find Winter roaming the Little Pigeon River in search of Great Blue Herons.

Core spotlight: Anna Marie

Anna Marie has been dancing with since January 2024. Her favorite class is ballet and she loves learning and challenging herself both physically and creatively.
Her favorite part of dancing at Circle is collaborating with the Sunshine dancers!

Core spotlight: Sarah

Sarah has been dancing with since 2022, but has been a “bunhead" since the age of 3. She enjoys Circle's modern and improv classes and loves collaborating with sunshine industries!

When she's not dancing, you can find Sarah participating in adaptive sports by volunteering with the Knoxville Dynamic Recreation Program.

Core spotlight: Annell

Annell has been dancing with since 2025 and joined core in 2026.

She enjoys ballet, jazz, tap, modern, theater jazz, worship dance, and hip hop. In creating movement, she likes to blend styles together and loves the floating weightless sensation of dancing on pointe.

Shout out: Annell thanks Lydia (whose modern class she loves taking) for introducing her to Circle. She's excited to support Circle’s mission and vision for the adult dance community!

Core spotlight: Amelea

Amelea has been dancing with  for about 20 years and has been a core member since 2017.
Her favorite dance style is modern, but she'll try anything once!

All skill levels welcome! No prior dance experience needed.
