We’re continuing our Meet the Anglers series and are excited to introduce another great team from the Karns Beavers Bass Fishing Team!

Today, we’re proud to introduce Hudson Mynatt & Wilson Shepherd! 🎣

With different strengths, plenty of tournament experience, and a shared love for being on the water, these two make a great team. Get to know a little more about Hudson and Wilson, from their favorite places to fish and go-to lures to their biggest accomplishments and goals for the season.

What a special way to close out an incredible season for the Karns Beavers Bass Fishing Team!

And what a season it was.

The Karns Fishing Team earned the Commissioner’s Cup as the top high school of the year for the Tennessee Bass Nation High School/Youth 2025-2026 season, an accomplishment that is truly something to be proud of. As Josh Owens said, earning that title/team trophy is like the football team winning State. That really puts into perspective just how significant this achievement is.

But the accomplishments didn’t stop there. Karns had TWO teams finish in the Top 25 in the nation, something no other Tennessee team accomplished. 🇺🇸🎣

That is a testament to the incredible talent and depth within this program, as well as the countless hours our anglers, boat captains, and their families have invested throughout the season.

A special thank you to our coaches for all they do to support this team, from handling the behind-the-scenes details and paperwork that keep everything moving, to showing up, encouraging our anglers and making sure they feel supported throughout the season. Their thoughtfulness in making the banquet special for each of these young anglers did not go unnoticed.

Your support means more than simply helping fund a fishing season. You are investing in these young anglers, believing in their potential and helping provide opportunities for them to compete, grow and experience moments they will carry with them for years to come. Above all, we’re grateful for the opportunity God has given these young anglers to pursue something they love, to compete alongside their teammates and to grow through every success and every challenge. We couldn't be more proud of the way these young men represented Karns High School, our community, and the state of Tennessee on the national stage.

🏆 Crews McFerrin & Colin Bourne – 18th in the Nation

🏆 Wilson Shepherd & Hudson Mynatt – 24th in the Nation

Out of a field that began with more than 12,000 student anglers, these teams earned their place among the nation's best and gave it everything they had all week long. 💪

These four anglers have earned a few college scholarship opportunities, proving that the possibilities are endless when hard work, commitment, and passion come together. We hope their success inspires the younger members of our team to dream big, work hard, and believe in what's possible.

A heartfelt thank you to our incredible sponsors, families, coaches, boat captains, volunteers, and our entire Karns community. Your generosity, encouragement, and unwavering support make opportunities like this possible, and we are truly grateful.

🎣 What an incredible way to wrap up the junior season!

Brody Bible and Sawyer Mynatt represented Karns at the Bassmaster High School & Junior Series National Championship, competing against some of the best young anglers in the country. They weighed in keeper fish both days, gave it everything they had, and represented our school with determination, sportsmanship, and class.

While the results weren't exactly what they hoped for, reaching Nationals is an incredible accomplishment, and the experience they gained will only make them stronger as they begin their high school fishing careers.

Congratulations on an outstanding season, Brody and Sawyer! We are proud of the way you represented Karns Fishing and can't wait to see what you accomplish next. 💙🎣
