Your eyes help you stay connected to the people, places, and activities you love! 💙 This week is a great reminder to make your eye health a priority.

Regular eye exams can help detect changes early and support healthy vision as we age. Take time to care for your eyes, schedule those checkups, and don’t ignore changes in your vision.

💙 Falls Prevention Awareness Week: Stay Strong, Steady, and Independent! 💙

Falls are not a normal part of aging, and there are steps we can take to help reduce fall risk. The National Council on Aging encourages older adults to find a good balance and exercise program, talk with healthcare providers, review medications, care for vision and hearing, make the home safer, and talk with family and friends.

The Klamath Basin Senior Citizens’ Center offers programs that support strength, balance, flexibility, and mobility, including Strong People, Better Bones & Balance Boot Camp, Mobility From Head to Toe, and SAIL. These classes provide opportunities to stay active, build confidence, and support independence.

This Falls Prevention Awareness Week, take a moment to learn about your fall risk and find ways to stay safe and active. You can also explore NCOA’s Falls Free® CheckUp, a free 13-question assessment that provides personalized information and resources.

🚐✨ Our New Transportation Van Has Arrived! ✨🚐

We’re excited to welcome our new transportation van to the Klamath Basin Senior Citizens’ Center! 💙

This new addition will help us continue providing transportation services that support seniors in getting to the Center, medical appointments, employment, and the grocery store.

Reliable transportation helps older adults stay active, independent, and connected to the community. We’re grateful for the support that made this possible and look forward to putting our new van to work! 🥰

💙 Make a Difference in Your Community! 💙

The AARP Foundation Tax-Aide program is looking for friendly, service-oriented volunteers to help during the upcoming tax season.

No previous tax experience is required! Volunteers receive training and support while gaining valuable new skills. Opportunities include helping taxpayers prepare returns, welcoming and organizing clients, assisting with technology, supporting program operations, and more.

Bilingual volunteers are especially encouraged to apply! 🗣️
