Founded in September 1898 by pioneering entrepreneurs Henry C. began as an essential supply source for miners throughout Southeast Alaska. Two years later, the business became Tongass Trading Company, a name that has remained deeply rooted in Ketchikan for more than 125 years. Today, that legacy continues with the introduction of Tongass Outfitters, a new chapter built from the same Alaska-born foundation of service, quality, and community. Focused on outdoor apparel, footwear, marine sporting goods, and everyday essentials for life in Southeast Alaska, Tongass Outfitters carries forward the spirit of readiness, adventure, and practical reliability that has always been part of the Tongass story.
