Many have asked how the future Guadalupe River Center site was affected by the floods. This image and illustration shows the water levels from both events and their proximity to the planned building site.

Thankfully, the future Guadalupe River Center build site remained completely untouched. During the most recent flood, the river came no closer than approximately 150 feet from the northeast corner of the site, and the planned building footprint remained safely above and well away from the floodwaters.

We hope this graphic provides helpful context and reassurance as our community continues to recover.

Please continue to keep everyone affected by the flooding in your thoughts and prayers.

All 45 cypress trees planted by the Guadalupe River Center in partnership with The Kerr County River Foundation after the July 16 flood!

After so much loss, seeing these young trees still standing feels like a beautiful sign of resilience and hope. Planted to help heal and protect the river, they are already showing us just how strong nature can be. ๐Ÿ’š

A beautiful silver lining and a small sign of hope and resilience along the Guadalupe River. Thank you to the dedicated volunteers who continue to care for them.

The Guadalupe River Center was proud to help plant some of these trees, and we are so grateful to know that many are still alive and standing strong.

If your home or property was damaged by the recent storms and flooding, please report it to the Texas Division of Emergency Management at damage.tdem.texas.gov.

Completing the survey helps local and state officials understand the extent of the damage, connect Texans with available services and determine eligibility for federal disaster assistance.

We loved being part of Kerrville-Schreiner Park Community Day on Saturday!

Thank you to Kerrville-Schreiner Park for hosting such a wonderful community event and for inviting the Guadalupe River Center to be part of the day.

We were grateful for the opportunity to connect with families, neighbors and outdoor enthusiasts who share a love for the Hill Country and the Guadalupe River.

As we continue working toward a future home on the river, days like this remind us why this vision matters. The Guadalupe River Center will be a place for education, recreation and conservation, but also a place of healing, connection and renewed appreciation for the river that shapes our community.

Thank you to everyone who stopped by and shared in the excitement for what is ahead.

Today, our hearts are with every family forever changed by the July 4 flood.

We remember the lives lost, honor the strength of those who survived, and give thanks for the first responders, volunteers, neighbors and community members who stepped forward with courage and compassion.

One year later, the grief remains, but so does the love that carried this community through its darkest days. The Guadalupe River Center is committed to creating a place along the river where people can gather, remember, heal and find hope together.

We will always remember.
