Join Dogs That Run on Saturday, October 17th, for the inaugural Ganondagan Canicross Race and Dog-Friendly Races & Vendor Event at the Historic Ganondagan Site in Victor, New York!

Choose your adventure:

🏃‍♀️ Canicross 5K Trail Race — a competitive, dog-powered trail race 🐕 Dog-Friendly 5K Trail Race — open to runners and walkers with or without dogs

Every participant receives a finisher medal, plus a special medal for their pup, a goodie bag with treats for both two- and four-legged athletes, and a chip-timed bib! 🏅

A portion of race proceeds will support a local dog rescue and the Ganondagan State Historic Site. ❤️

Canicross participants must use a non-restrictive dog harness, hands-free waist belt, and bungee line. Dog-friendly race participants must follow the event’s leash and NO GREET policies.

🍂🏁 The weather is cooling down, but the fall dryland calendar is heating up! 🐾

Canicross USA is excited to highlight the IFSS Accredited World Cup races happening across the USA this fall. These events are a great opportunity to get out on the trails, race with your team, and chase those World Cup points!

Racing for IFSS titles? Here’s what you need to know:

🏁 An active DID is required to earn World Cup points toward the 2026–2027 Continental and Global Standings. 🗓️ Register for your DID by the Monday before your race to allow time for processing. 💻 Request your 2026–2027 DID: https://www.usfss.org/membership-did

Twenty-five years ago, more than 300 search-and-rescue dogs answered the call at Ground Zero, the Pentagon, and Shanksville. They searched through rubble, smoke, shattered glass, and unimaginable devastation — working tirelessly to find survivors and bring comfort to those who needed it most. 🇺🇸❤️

These four-legged heroes showed incredible courage:

🐕 Apollo — an NYPD K9 who worked tirelessly at Ground Zero.
🐕 Trakr — credited with helping locate the last survivor rescued from the rubble.
🐕 Riley — a Golden Retriever who searched alongside firefighters.
🐕 Bretagne — who not only searched at Ground Zero, but comforted workers in the years that followed.
🐕 Roselle — a guide dog who led her blind handler and others safely down 78 flights of stairs.

And they were just a few of the hundreds who served.

Their work went far beyond their incredible noses. They offered something just as powerful: comfort, companionship, and hope. Exhausted first responders found moments of peace in the presence of these dogs, even in the darkest hours.

Today, we remember the 300+ canine heroes who stood beside humanity when we needed them most.

🇺🇸 We remember their courage.
🐾 We honor their service.
❤️ We will never forget.

This Sunday, September 13th, join Leon’s Obstacle Course Race at the beautiful Indiana Dunes National Park for a special Canine Obstacle Course Race celebrating the incredible bond between dogs and the people who serve our country and communities.

Since 2023, Leon’s has partnered with Midwest Canine Obstacle Run to bring this one-of-a-kind event to race weekend. It’s more than obstacles — it’s about teamwork, trust, courage, and the unbreakable bond between human and dog. 🐕💪

As we commemorate the 25th anniversary of September 11, we honor the military, veterans, first responders, law enforcement, and the remarkable dogs who have stood faithfully beside them. ❤️🇺🇸

Your membership helps support the growth of dog-powered sports across North Carolina and gives the local mushing community more opportunities to train, learn, and get out on the trails together.
