In 2021 our data indicated the loss equated to 10 school buses.

Distressingly, these numbers are on the rise.

Our most recent data now indicates we lose the equivalent of 11 school buses full of children to fatal unintentional drownings each year in the US. The CDC reports that for every 1 fatal child drowning, another 7-8 are seen in emergency departments for non-fatal drowning.

Water safety education and proactive measures are more vital than ever. Drowning is preventable!

Swim lessons aren't just a summer thing, they're a year-round commitment to safety and skill-building.

As the seasons change, remember that the benefits of swimming lessons extend far beyond the summer months. Consistent practice strengthens water confidence and proficiency, ensuring kids stay safer around water all year long.

Don't let the end of summer mark the end of swim lessons. Keep the momentum going, and make water safety a priority!

Attention all parents and caregivers!

It's crucial to remember that lifeguards should never replace your active supervision in or around water.

Even when lifeguards are present, always keep a watchful eye on your children.

Lifeguards are trained professionals who play a critical role in maintaining pool safety. However, they have numerous responsibilities and may not be able to focus solely on your child at all times.

Remember, we all have a role in ensuring a safe and enjoyable swimming experience by using the 5 Layers of Protection.

So, whether you're at a public pool, a water park, or even in your own backyard, please prioritize constant, capable, and close supervision!

🌍 Today is World Drowning Prevention Day.

Drowning can happen quickly and quietly, but it is preventable.

At Suit Up Water Safety & Swim School, we believe that water safety starts with education, preparation, and confidence in the water. Learning to swim, practicing active supervision, assigning a dedicated Water Watcher, and learning CPR are all important layers of protection that help keep families safer.

Every lesson is more than learning a skill, it's building confidence and creating safer swimmers for life.

💙 Join Naomi's Grace as We Support the Wavemaker Tour! 💙

On Friday, July 31, we'll be attending the Houston Astros vs. Texas Rangers game to stand alongside Jonathan St. Clair, NDPA Board Member, Co-Founder of the Jasper Ray Foundation, and Jasper's dad, as he continues his incredible 30-day Wavemaker Tour across Major League Baseball.

Jonathan's mission is simple, yet powerful: Not One More.

Twelve years after losing his son, Jasper, Jonathan continues to turn unimaginable loss into lifesaving action by raising awareness about drowning prevention in communities across the country. His journey represents every family impacted by drowning and every advocate working tirelessly to prevent another tragedy.

As fellow water safety advocates—and as a family who understands this mission personally—we are honored to support him.

Jonathan shared these words before beginning his tour:

"When my wife and I started this mission 12 years ago, our goal was to save one life. One would make it all worth it... I carry your stories with me daily. The goal is the same. Not one more. Together we will make a change."

Those words remind us why Naomi's Grace exists.

If you're attending the Astros game on July 31, we'd love to connect with you and help fill the stands with advocates for water safety. Every conversation, every shared story, and every voice helps spread awareness that can save lives.

Together, we can create safer communities around water.
