It was a weekend full of BBQ at the 2026 Cameron Elks BBQ Cook Off!

We walked away with 8th place in Friday night’s rib burn 🏆 and apparently took home 1st place in the Bloody Mary contest 🍅🍹! We think there may have been a little confusion during awards because we didn’t hear our name called but as we were walking away, the judges made sure to congratulate us on 1st and then showed us the score sheet which made it even sweeter!

Saturday didn’t quite go our way. The judges just weren’t feeling our chicken or ribs, but that’s BBQ. You win some, you learn some, and you keep cooking! 🔥

One thing we did learn this weekend… ribs have TWO membranes! 😂 Every competition teaches us something, and that’s all part of getting better.

More importantly, we got to spend quality time with family. Thank the Lord we found some shade under the trees 🌳 because when we went to hang out with our friends, Slaughter House BBQ, Nadine Dasilva Goddard and Kc Creations, I think we rendered about all the body fat we had left in that heat! 🥵😂

Momma threw down with a mean apple pie 🥧, Chloe absolutely crushed the Bloody Marys 🍹, and Pops and I held down the ribs and chicken like always. ❤️

Huge congratulations to our brother Poppin Smoke BBQ on the GC! We know you’ve been working hard for that bro & it’s well deserved!👏 Also shoutout to Too Sauced BBQ , Bald Beauties BBQ and all the other teams that keep putting out incredible BBQ week after week!

But don’t count Team Sadie Q out… 😎 We’re showing up, were learning, we’re and we’re coming in strong this weekend in Osceola, MO 🔥🐷

We had the opportunity to swing by and help our good buddies Poppin Smoke BBQ make that 3-mile trek to turn-ins and we had an absolute blast doing so! Along the way, we also ran into our bbq fam T-Dawg BBQ and Cory Bussart and got to help them get a few boxes turned in too. (They had some jalapeño poppers that were amazing! )🔥🔥

This is exactly what we love about competitive barbecue. Yeah, we all want to hear our names called but I’ll say it again the real prize is the friendships and relationships you build with people who love barbecue just as much as you do and who are dang good at it!

We also got to meet Joe from Blind Fox BBQ.. what a solid guy! And, we ran into our steak plug Tyson! 🙌🏽
