I am BESIDE MYSELF!! IT’S OFFICIALLY Official!!! 🎉❤️
Bridges by Starting Over Stronger, Inc. is officially a 501(c)(3) nonprofit!
Holy crap. This is happening.
This has been a vision of mine for as long as I can remember -- bridging the gap between domestic violence and being able to afford to leave a psychologically and financially destructive relationship on your own terms -- a gap I truly never thought I could make happen.
And then earlier this year it finally hit me...
Of course I can’t make it happen alone. It’s bigger than me. There is a massive need for these services.
So I started talking about it. And people started saying YES, Absolutely, how can I help? Attorneys, financial advisors, coaches, Realtors, friends, former clients, soany people just GET IT... people who see the same enormous need and want to help.
And now we have a board. (Thank you Stephanie Summers Culver Aleesa Lennon and Tanya Doss Peterson !) We meet every week. We are continuing to connect with more and more people in the nonprofit community and the feedback has been incredible. People see the need and know it is not being met. People are giving their time and talents. We are planning BIG things.
And today the letter came.
We’re official. ❤️
Launch party 11/11, because obviously, if you know me, you know i.love synchronicities . ✨
LET THE FUN-DRAISING BEGIN!!! I'm here if you want to talk about how to be a part. 💚

Your home may be one of the most emotional decisions you make during divorce.
**That’s exactly why it shouldn’t be an emotional decision.**
“I have to keep the house.”
“I just want out.”
“The kids need to stay here.”
“I could never afford it on my own.”
Maybe. But before you decide, **get the facts.**
What is the home actually worth? How much equity is there? What would selling really net you? Can you realistically afford to keep it? What other options might you have?
The goal isn’t to take emotion out of divorce. That’s impossible.
It’s to make sure emotion doesn’t make a major financial decision **before you have the information you need.**
Get the facts. Then make the decision.

As I watched this little peace lily come back to life, I immediately thought of my clients.
I wish I could take a picture of each person when they first walk through my door, and then keep taking pictures throughout the next year as they transform through and after their divorces.
Because I would love to put them all together in a time-lapse and let themselves blooming the way I get to see them.
The person who arrives overwhelmed, uncertain, exhausted, sometimes barely recognizing themselves anymore...
slowly beginning to stand a little taller.
Finding their voice.
Making decisions they didn't think they could make.
Learning to trust themselves again.
Building a life that feels like their own.
Becoming.
It doesn't happen in 24 seconds like this beautiful little plant. Sometimes the changes are so gradual that you don't even realize they're happening.
You just keep watering the person you're becoming.
And then one day, you look back and realize...
you aren't wilted anymore. ❤️

Getting all settled into my new office and feeling so grateful. 💙
I’m already working with so many new clients who are choosing a better way to divorce. A way that can cost less, create less conflict, and keep more of the decision-making in their own hands.
This little space is quickly becoming a place for hard conversations, thoughtful decisions, new beginnings and, most importantly, starting over stronger.
I’m so excited for all that is to come. ⚓️

That's the whole purpose, isn't it?
What a strange and beautiful thing it is to become the person you once needed.
The person who listens.
The person who stays.
The person who tells the truth gently.
The person who does not shame pain.
The person who makes room for fear without letting it run the whole show.
For a long time, I thought healing meant finding someone who could finally give me what I had missed.
And sometimes, other people do help us get there.
But eventually something deeper happens.
We begin to offer those things to ourselves.
We become the safe place.
The steady voice.
The boundary.
The compassion.
The protection.
Not because the past stops mattering.
Because we finally stop leaving ourselves alone in it.
There is something powerful about realizing:
I became someone Little Me would have felt safe with.
That may be one of the greatest privileges of healing.

Ask anyone who didn't have that.
As a mother, I've learned that children carry the feeling of home with them long before they understand the meaning of security. They remember the atmosphere, the comfort, the way they were spoken to, and the feeling they had when they walked through the door after a difficult day. I don't want my child to grow up in a space filled with constant tension, because childhood passes far too quickly to spend it surrounded by stress and emotional distance. My greatest hope isn't to create a perfect home, because perfection doesn't exist. I simply want to build a place where my child feels safe, loved, accepted, and protected no matter what life brings our way. 🥹

Becoming a mother changed the way I think about the world in ways I never expected. I still remind my child to be careful, to trust her instincts, and to protect herself, but I also find myself thinking about the kind of environment we're creating for the next generation. Raising children isn't only about teaching them how to navigate difficult situations. It's also about teaching kindness, empathy, respect, and accountability from the very beginning. As a mother, I want every child to grow up understanding that making someone feel safe, valued, and respected should never be optional. The lessons we teach inside our homes have the power to shape the world our children inherit. 💜
