Kansas City Jr. Blues Rugby Club is a high school rugby club established in 1992 in Kansas City. The Kansas City Jr. The Jr.

Blues Rugby Club was founded in 1992 and has developed into one of the premier high school rugby programs throughout the country. Blues have two teams and welcome players from all high schools throughout the Kansas City metro area. Their goal is to teach high school kids the values of hard work, discipline, sportsmanship, and team work through the sport of rugby.

Congratulations to Theo Martin who was selected to play with the Rebel Rugby Academy U18s Open side at the North American Invitational 7s this weekend! Theo represented the Blues crest proud in the top 7s tournament in the nation, bringing home the victory in the Plate final and finishing 5th out of 18 teams from all over North America and beyond! Congrats Theo, teammates and coaches on a successful tournament and dedication and effort this summer!

The Jrs fought hard in the heat and humidity this past weekend, but came up just short in the championship match in our final 7s tournament of the summer.

Pool play:
Jr Blues 7-12 Jr Barbos

Jr Blues 30-0 Jr Reds

Jr Blues 28-7 Jr Northland

Championship:
Jr Blues 12-17 Jr Barbos

The team was represented by 8 local high schools and 3 different rugby clubs. Thank you to our seniors for a great summer and to our dedicated underclassmen who have been passed the torch.

All high school area players are welcome to get extra training this Fall with the men’s side.

Runner up at Show Me State Games 🥈

The boys traveled to Columbia, MO with our older brothers to compete in the Show Me State Games this weekend.

The squad featured players from 4 different clubs; the Junior Blues, St. Thomas Aquinas Saints, Gorilla Rugby, and Notre Dame La Salette. Featuring players from 9 different high schools, the team finished with a 3-1 record and a 2nd place medal losing just short in the final 17-21. The boys are already fizzin for the final tourney of the summer next weekend in Raytown.

Oil Can 7s High School Champions!

The Jrs had a great day last weekend in the first tournament of the summer with wins over Jr Northland, Springdale, Jr Reds and Nebraska!
