Hailey Romero is officially committed to Avila University Women’s Wrestling!

Transferring from Doane, Hailey joins the Eagles as a senior and brings a championship mindset, experience, and determination to our program.

Her accomplishments speak for themselves:
- 2022 Stampede Champion
- 2023 State Runner-Up
- 2025 GPAC Conference Champion
- 2025 NAIA National Qualifier

Hailey has proven herself as a high-level competitor and we’re excited to see her continue that success at Avila.

Mikayla Stickler and Kylie Dunn are officially committed to Avila University Women’s Wrestling!

Coming out of Fort Osage High School, Mikayla will compete at 103 and Kylie at 131. Both athletes are two-time State Placers, bringing proven success, dedication, and experience to the Avila program.

Mikayla is excited for the opportunity to compete again and continue learning under Coach Lapaglia, while Kylie is looking forward to meeting new people and becoming part of the Avila family.

Joya Hodge is officially committed to Avila University Women’s Wrestling!

Coming from Freedom High School (TA), Joya brings excellence both on the mat and in the classroom. She is a 2x Hillsborough County Champion, District Champion, Regional Placer, and State Qualifier—consistently proving herself as a top competitor.

Her hard work goes beyond wrestling. Joya earned the Academic Excellence Award for maintaining a 4.0 GPA throughout her wrestling season and was named MVP, showing her dedication, leadership, and commitment to success.

Joya plans to major in nursing as she continues her journey at the next level.

A driven student-athlete and strong leader, we’re excited to see the impact she’ll make at Avila!
