Blanch is an unincorporated community in extreme north-central North Carolina about 10 miles southeast of Danville Virginia. It’s home of the Flying Disc Clubhouse, where the Freeze Your Ice Off Too: FDC’s 2nd Ice Bowl was held on February 7. The event used this inducement to encourage attendance: “Whaaaaaey at? You still haven’t signed up for the only Ice Bowl that has a Clubhouse to hang out inside with heat and cold beer? Whaaaaatt?!?” While this sounded might fine to me, I was too far away to play. However, there were 30 players there on lovely 65° day as $840 and 809 was donated to the Caswell Parish Food Bank. FYI, the Flying Disc Company (FDC) Clubhouse is a historic 1936 WPA-built log cabin operating as a tavern, bottle shop, and disc golf course. Check out this article for how it came to be: https://hycolakemagazine.com/flying-disc-company/
