A quick break during a Saturday morning workout on the lake.

A few of us went to Mill Creek Activity Center in Shawnee Mission to train on the rowing machines this morning after a rain and lightning storm prevented us from rowing on Wyandotte County Lake. Coach Julia had us row a series of sprints to get a feel for racing a 2000 meter sprint. It was a good workout.

KCRC will conduct its next adult introduction to rowing on Aug. 26, 2026 (Wednesday) from 5:30pm-7:00pm at the Mill Creek Activity Center in Shawnee Mission, and Aug. 29, 2026 (Saturday) from 9:00pm-10:45pm, on Wyandotte County Lake. KCRC's next rowing clinic is scheduled from Sep. 2 2026 - Oct. 10, 2026. Training sessions are on Wednesday evenings from 5:00pm-7:15pm and Saturday mornings from 9:00am-10:45am. Registration is open on Regatta Central at https://www.regattacentral.com/clubs/?org_id=609.
