This! My freshman year in college I struggled because I want used to a yelling coach and all I could hear was that he was mad at me. One I learned to hear what he was saying (not HOW he was saying it), things fell into place.

One of the BIGGEST lessons I learned playing for the National Team:

HEAR THE MESSAGE. Stop hating the messenger.

My National Team coach and I butted heads at times. I was an ARIES ♈️ And for a long time, because I didn’t always like the delivery—or agree with the person delivering it—I stopped actually hearing what was being said.

That wasn’t the way to do it.

Once I learned to get past my feelings, put my ego aside, and actually HEAR THE MESSAGE, everything changed.

Sometimes the coach you struggle with the most is telling you exactly what you NEED to hear.

You don’t have to like the delivery.
You don’t have to love the coach.

But you better be mature enough to listen.

That lesson would’ve saved me a whole lot of wasted energy.

🥈🥈Hardware Alert🥈🥈

18s fell just a little short in the championship game with a 3-2 loss. Runner on third, hard line drive down the line and 3b makes a great play, and the runner was stuck for a double play.

The offense was led by senior Brook B (Baker). She hit .500 with 14 hits (2 dbl 2 trpl) and 11 RBIs. Three other girls hit over .400 on the week: Mattie M and Evey A each hit .458 and Mandia B hit .417

Pitching was led by senior Enslie D (Truman State). She carried the load with a great walk to strikeout ratio of 9/20.

A full team effort, and all of the graduated seniors had meaningful impact. In addition to those mentioned above: Speedster Gwen D who can steal on anyone (if coach picks the right pitch), Peyton B who joined us late and played a position she hasn’t played in years. Including injury-sidelined Jordyn K who coached 1st and helped the defense.

We will be watching as they move ahead in their lives to become the strong women they are meant to be. 💜💜💜

Bittersweet ending, for sure.
And the next chapter begins…

Great day at the ballpark!

First up, 16a Porter with a 3rd place finish

As a team they recorded 75 hits this week. 24 for extras.
Macee B led the offense with 14 Kaiya M and Shania N just a bit below that with 10 each.

No courtesy needed..
It’s not often the catcher leads the stolen base numbers, but Landyn G was pesky on the bases nabbing 5.

Overall a great team effort where everyone contributed!
