I grew up watching Ric Flair, The Nature Boy on Mid-Atlantic Championship Wrestling. Their show traveled to my hometown of Roxboro, N.C. and put on an outdoors event at the Optimist baseball park in the 1970s. I have watched Flair go from local hero to national icon. His Flair Spirits Vodka has won many taste awards, beating the premium brands. Now we have to level up Garage 66 to beat the premium teams!

NEWS: 16-time wrestling world champion Ric Flair’s Flair Spirits is jumping into the NASCAR scene this summer by sponsoring Josh Bilicki and Garage 66 in the Bass Pro Shops Bristol Night Race on Saturday, September 19. Wooooo!

I am looking forward to EchoPark. The wide-open 1.5-mile speedway will suit Chad perfectly. We made a few adjustments from our setup here last year and are looking forward to a strong run.

The sponsors this week are all returning supporters. Truan Equipment Company and 66Trailers.com are both based in Knoxville, Tennessee. Carter's Royal Dispos-All, Inc. comes out of Toccoa, Georgia, and GPC Poultry Supply and Hardware is based in Carnesville, Georgia. Both of our Georgia partners were on the hood at Talladega a couple months ago. I used to drive for John Carter in Cup, and it’s really fun to have him be a part of our team. We hope we can bring some of that Talladega magic back for Chad again this weekend!

NEWS: She Pivots, the award-winning podcast and women-focused media brand, enters motorsports for the first time as the sponsor of Dystany Spurlock's No. 66 ARCA Menards Series entry for Lucas Oil Indianapolis Raceway Park on July 24.

“Motorsports has never looked like Dystany Spurlock, and that’s exactly why She Pivots is showing up for her,” said Emily Tisch Sussman, founder and host of She Pivots. “She is the only Black woman in the world competing at this level, and she’s doing it on her own terms. That’s not just breaking barriers, that’s blowing them up."

Tisch Sussman is co-owner of the NFL’s New York Giants and Gotham FC of the National Women’s Soccer League, making her one of the most influential women in sports. The partnership with Dystany marks the first-ever athlete sponsorship for She Pivots.

It is great to have more new brands advertising with Garage 66, especially at a track we know well. We had the car driving well for Chad Finchum last year in the later stages of the race. This year is a different aero package though, so I am hoping we still have the car dialed in. We have no sim, just a guesstimator... we’ll give it our best shot.

Some of our best runs at Charlotte have come with Timmy behind the wheel. We had a very stable car last year, so we should have a good starting point for our setup. This is our first race with the all-new electrical system mandated by NASCAR, so we are working hard to make sure we have no issues with it rolling into the weekend. We had to make the support pieces in house, no big team to do it for us. Cross your fingers!
