Our July Provider Spotlight is Foster Village Northeast! Foster Village Northeast Kansas exists to bridge the gap between foster families and caregivers and those who want to help, believing that every child deserves a village of support beyond the system. The organization comes alongside foster, kinship, adoptive, and reunifying families to provide practical resources, meaningful connections, and encouragement. Its goal is to help families feel equipped and supported so they can continue caring for children who have experienced adversity.
One of the primary ways Foster Village Northeast Kansas supports families is through welcome packs, which provide new clothing, toiletries, books, comfort items, and other essentials when a child enters a new placement. The organization also offers caregiver support consultations, trauma-informed education, sensory support through Project SOOTHe, and scholarships that help children participate in activities that help them thrive.
In addition to meeting practical needs, Foster Village Northeast Kansas creates opportunities for connection through caregiver support groups, Caregiver Nights Out, Teen Art Studio, and family-friendly events. These programs help reduce isolation and build relationships among families navigating similar experiences.
The organization also advocates for children and caregivers by raising community awareness about foster care and encouraging others to become part of the village of support. Watch their featured video and learn more at www.fostervillagenortheastks.org.

Join the Monthly Peer Support Group: Foster/Adoptive Parents & Loss. Held virtually on the 2nd Saturday of every month from 9–10 a.m. Pacific (12–1 p.m. Eastern), this free group is specifically for foster, adoptive, and guardianship caregivers/parents who have had a child leave their home or who have experienced other types of loss or estrangement from children. For example: a child is living with biological family or in a different foster home, has run away, or is now in a residential treatment center or other institution.
This welcoming space allows participants to listen, talk about their feelings, discuss how they are coping, and share ways they are taking care of themselves.
