Rescue Engine 8 and Chief 81 are operating at a vehicle crash with rescue that has Pulaski Highway shut down between Rosalie Drive & Abingdon Road in Abingdon. Units from
Abingdon Fire Company - MD and Harford County Department of Emergency Services Special Operations and EMS are both on scene.

Engine 814 & Truck 8 are operating at a house fire in the 700 block of Ferguson Road in the Joppatowne section of . Units arrived with smoke showing from a one-story home. A dryer fire was located and quickly extinguished by firefighters.

Congrats to Joppa Magnolia VFC - Fort Hanson Firefighter George Thiess who was promoted to Chief Petty Officer.

CPO Thiess has been serving our country in the U.S. Navy since 2009. When he is not deployed, George still finds time to come home and staff the station on a duty crew.

George is currently stationed in Norfolk, VA serving in Fleet Logistics Multi-Mission Squadron 40.

Last night, the was called to a home in Joppatowne for a dog stuck in a recliner. Highway, a rescued terrier, managed to get himself so entangled that our firefighters needed to use the HURST Jaws of Life to free him. Once he was removed from the chair, Harford County Department of Emergency Services Medic 81, from our Joppa station, transported him to an emergency vet for treatment.
