Congrats to one of JCC’s top junior stars, Camp Kelly. Camp won a Level 5 in Memphis this past weekend. He dominated the field! Winning a Level 5 is a very big accomplishment. Great job Camp! Keep working hard at clinic!

We also had another star, Warren Wagner, go to St Louis and play another clay court tournament. Warren placed 3rd!! He’s becoming a clay court specialist!!

Both of these boys are rising stars. They work very hard at tennis and it is starting to pay off. And you couldn’t ask for two better kids to coach!

This past weekend, we took a group of our juniors to the Hot Springs clay court tournament. This was the first time for our kids to ever play a tournament on clay. It was adventurous at times, particularly with the footwork. But they got some valuable experience. The competition was tough! Lots of elite players in the tournament. We rented a couple of houses that were right by the tennis courts. It was great to see all of the kids supporting each other during their matches! And we had some fun off the court as well. How these kids didn’t get removed from the go kart track, I’ll never know😂

Lots to catch up on! Last Wednesday night we had Wimbledon at JCC. We wore all white, enjoyed some Wimbledon themed cocktails, and had our 1 pt tournament! Congrats on Frances Johnson for taking the title and some cash!

The 2026 JTT State Championships are complete. And things couldn’t have gone better for us!!

4 out of our 5 teams are state champions! The champions are:

18-under Girls(BlazerCanes)-Stella Cato, Hallie Guadamuz, Maddie Milton, Hollice Witherspoon, and Mary Beth Dickson. That team was captained by Heather Dickson and Cham Witherspoon

18-under Boys(JCC Byron Boys)-Owen Criner, Payton Goad, and Beckett Bonner. Captained by Mary Criner

12-under Boys- Camp Kelly, Warren Wagner, Luke Pickens and Sam Tolleson. Captained by Katy Wagner

10-under green ball-Reese Kelly, Collins Ring, Collins Powell, Abigail Blackburn and Cooper Tolleson. Captained by Jessica Kelly

Update from JTT State Championships:

After Day 1, 4 of our 5 teams are in 1st place in their respective divisions. Tomorrow could be a great day for JCC Junior Tennis. Still work to do though!

And folks it is HOT!!! These kids are gamers though and they won’t let triple digit heat indexes stop them.

Wish us luck tomorrow! I know these kids will fight to bring home some state championships to the hallowed grounds of JCC.

I had some friends join me for lunch today! JKC graduation is near so we celebrated with some flavored Sprite and Coach Byron housed a cheeseburger. Looking forward to a great summer with these studs!
