Meet Marla!

Marla is one of the many individuals we have the privilege of supporting as she works toward greater independence through workforce training and direct support programming.

And behind every success is a dedicated Direct Support Professional (DSP) like Debi, who provides encouragement, guidance, and support along the way.

This DSP Week, be sure to say hello to Marla and Debi if you see them at the Cornerstone Publix this afternoon! We’re proud to celebrate the incredible DSP’s who help turn challenges into success every day.

And don’t forget to support HPS while you dine out! This Thursday, September 10, order from Pei Wei between 5–9 p.m. and 25% of your purchase will support Helping People Succeed.

We are grateful for our partnership with Publix, because of you, success happens every day!

Because of you, families don’t have to navigate the journey alone.

When Stephen’s mom noticed developmental delays, sensory sensitivities, and challenges with emotional regulation, she knew he needed support. Through HPS’s Family Navigator Program, Stephen’s family received guidance, advocacy, and connections to the services he needed.

Following an autism evaluation, Stephen was connected to ABA, Occupational Therapy, Speech Therapy, a Social Skills group, and educational advocacy through the IEP process. His family also received resources and support to better understand his diagnosis and help him thrive.

Stephen’s mom shared:

“Your guidance, support, and dedication have opened so many doors and given Stephen opportunities that have made a meaningful difference in his life… We are truly blessed and thankful to have you as part of Stephen’s journey.”

This is what your support makes possible.

Will you consider making a donation today? Your generosity helps families like Stephen’s find the resources, guidance, and support they need to navigate challenges and create brighter possibilities for their children.

Helping People Succeed extends our sincere condolences to the family and friends of Mr. Robert Weissman.

Mr. Weissman had a generous and philanthropic heart, and for many years, his support helped change the lives of the individuals and families we serve. His commitment to giving back and his desire to create meaningful impact throughout our community were truly inspiring.

He believed deeply in the power of service and understood that investing in local nonprofits meant investing in people, families, and the strength of our community. Through his generosity, advocacy, and steadfast support of organizations working to make a difference, he touched the lives of tens of thousands of people.

We are incredibly grateful for the contributions he made to Helping People Succeed and for the trust he placed in our mission. His legacy reminds us that generosity is not simply about giving, it is about believing in the potential of others and helping create a community where everyone has the opportunity to succeed.

Please join us in celebrating the life and legacy of a man with a heart of gold who believed in making a lasting impact right here in his local community.

We are honored to remember Robert Weissman and grateful for the meaningful legacy he leaves behind.

May his memory continue to inspire us all to serve, give, and make a difference.

💚 A donation doesn’t just change a space. It changes what happens inside of it.
Helping Kids Succeed is there for children all year long, creating a place to learn, build friendships, feel supported, and belong.

Recently, a generous $1,000 community donation gave our Fort Pierce space a back-to-school refresh, adding new décor, cozy seating, and a more inviting area for our kids to read, connect, recharge, and spend time together.

And this is the part we love: the impact is already happening. 📚✨

These beanbags aren’t just new furniture. They’re where a child can curl up with a book, where friends can sit together after school, and where our kids have another little corner that feels like it was created for them.

This is what community support looks like at Helping People Succeed. A gift comes in, and opportunities grow from it all year long. 💚

We are excited to announce that Cheree Ramirez has stepped into the role of Chief Advancement Officer for Helping People Succeed.

For Cheree, this is more than a new title. It is a full circle moment.

Having first connected with Helping People Succeed as a volunteer after moving to Martin County 16 years ago, her passion for this mission has been rooted in her own experiences and a lifelong commitment to supporting individuals with both hidden and visible disabilities.

As Cheree shared:

“We don't just provide a service. We wrap around the individual and their family, creating a tailored approach that recognizes that every person is different and that success looks different for everyone.”

Now, she is bringing that passion to her new role, working to build partnerships, grow philanthropic support, and help ensure HPS can continue turning challenges into success for generations to come.

Want to be part of this next chapter? Reach out to Cheree at [email protected] to set up a meeting to see how you can make an impact across the Treasure Coast.

Your support helps us continue providing the comprehensive services that empower individuals and families to grow, thrive, and belong.

Together, we can build a stronger, more sustainable future for Helping People Succeed and the thousands of individuals and families we serve.
