Outdoor activities such as hunting and fishing events provided to Wounded Warriors have proved to be extremely helpful in their recovery process. By giving them a chance to experience nature, free from the stresses of combat, while surrounded by their fellow warriors, it has proved time an again to be restful and rejuvenating. The hunting or fishing event itself, while helpful, is but a small part of the overall "therapy" of the event. Being with fellow Wounded Warriors, learning of others struggles with all aspects of their recovery, the medical system and other issues that effect or can effect each of us is possibly the most helpful thing that occurs on these events. All Warriors have a similar bond but all are in different stages of recovery. We learn from the others, good and bad, and put that information in our "kit" bags for our success. Warriors can learn where to seek aid/help for a specific problem, get a new awareness to the systems they will be exposed to in their future, for example, VA Claims, Social Security Offices and Veterans Service Officers. The information they obtain on these trips can effect their future. It can and has changed the lives of our Nations Wounded for the better.
