CLOSING ANNOUNCEMENT:

What started as an idea for a small apparel company in September of 2016 and flourished into Southern Muscle Company Power House gym in July of 2018…will be closing their doors September 15th.

It’s impossible to put into words all the emotions that run through this decision. This doesn’t feel like defeat but more so of closing a chapter and starting another book.

SMC was a place for new beginnings and self growth through many life changing chapters. Many people walked in broken and walked out a little more whole. Some battling addiction, homelessness, postpartum depression, divorce, mental health struggles and the list goes on. It was never taken for granted that SMC was allowed to play a small role in your healing.

SMC was a ministry in itself. It never turned away a member over financial restraints. For years it hosted trainer guided group training for ladies from the Ruth House. It was a quiet ministry that ended each session with sweat and a prayer.

SMC was a safe spot for teens to come after school and know they were bettering themselves and staying out of trouble. We felt blessed they came to us for hot pockets and mentoring.

SMC was a safe spot for parents to bring their littles because we always felt it was important for our future to understand discipline and self care. It was unconventional but worked within our SMC family and we loved every minute of it.

SMC will never be about one person. It will be known for every owner, trainer, member, visitor who ever stepped foot through the doors and made us who we were!

The SMC legacy will never be known for its struggle and what it had to overcome…SMC will be remembered for how it served its small community and left it better than it found it.
