We’re excited to once again partner with Tim Hortons Southern Tier this season for our Timbit of the Game promotion! Youth hockey players and young fans can skate onto the ice with the team during the starting lineup announcement and receive a free gift bag!

Our program and Jefferson Community College Hockey share a connection that goes further than both being known as “JCC”. Head Coach Tommy Gerace, Assistant Coach Joe Gerace, and Jefferson forward Charlie Gorman are all tied to each other through Andrew Gorman, the older brother of both Tommy and Charlie, and the son of Joe.

Last April, Andrew passed away unexpectedly at the age of 34. Andrew was the older brother of 9 siblings across the Gerace and Gorman families. This past weekend in Watertown, the Gerace and Gorman families reunited on opposite sides of the JCC coin as our coaches faced-off against Charlie and Jefferson. Pictured is Joe, Charlie’s older brother Kyle Gorman, Charlie, and Tommy.

Andrew was the reason that both of these families played hockey to begin with and trail-blazed the way for his 9 siblings to fall in love with the greatest game on Earth. It’s not a stretch to say that Jamestown CC hockey would not exist without Andrew. Though he wasn’t with us to watch his family battle on the ice, the Geraces and Gormans re-connecting this past weekend reminds us of the power of family through hockey. We’re grateful to share this incredible connection with our fellow JCC!

Our weekend roadtrip was full of team bonding, great hockey, learning moments, and lots of laughs. We finished the weekend 1-1-1, seeing tons of potential. We’re eager to push forward and keep getting better.
