Can you trust your radiologist—or the radiology report?

Radiologists are highly trained, but they are usually interpreting static images without seeing how you move, what triggers your pain, or what happens when your spine is loaded.

That means words like “minimal,” “tiny,” or “unremarkable” do not always tell the full story. A small finding can line up perfectly with severe symptoms, while another person can have terrible-looking imaging with very little pain.

The report matters. The images matter more. But your symptoms, history, pain triggers, and assessment matter most.

This is not an attack on radiologists. It is a reminder that a radiology report is only one piece of the puzzle.

TRAINING LOG: 7/11/2026

Two training sessions, two completely different goals.

I trained with Paul O’Neill after we recorded a podcast, starting with the McGill Big Three, belt squats, TRX rows, and plenty of targeted work for my quad, hamstring, adductor, shoulders, calves, and tibialis.

Later in the week, I trained with Slade and Dave. The focus shifted to bench press volume, technical cleanup, and building a better motor before Slade heads back to school.

Not every session needs to be about maxing out or chasing numbers. Sometimes the most productive work comes from improving positions, addressing weak areas, and stacking quality reps.

Michael Jordan is my favorite athlete of all time—and one of the most physically gifted humans we’ve ever seen.

The explosiveness, reactive strength, midair control, psychological dominance, and killer instinct were unmatched.

But athleticism isn’t limited to vertical jumps, championships, or what happens on a court.

Michael Jackson displayed a completely different kind of athletic ability: elite movement, coordination, conditioning, breath control, core stability, and the ability to sing accurately while performing at an incredibly high level.

Two completely different athletes. Two completely different demands.

But when you break down what Michael Jackson’s body was capable of doing night after night, the comparison becomes a lot more serious than most people realize.

Want to ruin your bench press? Treat it like an upper-body isolation exercise, rush your setup, lose tension, and let your shoulders do all the work.

The bench press is a full-body movement. Your upper back creates the platform. Your legs provide stability and drive. Your scapulae need to stay retracted and locked into the bench. When everything works together, you reduce energy leaks, shorten the bar path, protect your shoulders, and give yourself a better chance to move more weight.

Elite benches are built before the bar ever leaves the rack.

Get your eyes under the bar, wedge your upper back into position, set your grip, plant your feet, create your arch, bend the bar, and stay tight through the entire repetition. Do not flop onto the bench and expect to figure it out after the unrack.

I learned many of these lessons the hard way after destroying my shoulder and struggling with the bench for most of my lifting career.

Modulate your volume and intensity. Treat the setup like it matters. Use your entire body instead of relying on your shoulders.

UFC 329 is a loaded card, and I wanted to give my thoughts on how I see some of these fights playing out.

The big one is obviously Conor McGregor vs. Max Holloway. Conor is always dangerous early, but I think Max’s pace, cardio, boxing, and activity are going to be too much if he fights smart.

I also give my thoughts on Paddy Pimblett, Benoit Saint Denis, Cory Sandhagen, Robert Whittaker, Cody Garbrandt, and Gable Steveson making his UFC debut.

I’m not trying to be Nostradamus here. Just giving my thoughts as someone who has followed the sport for decades and likes watching how these fights unfold.
