workout in 2 weeks in Orlando!Host/Location: Metro Orlando Judo Kai (MOJ), 4270 Aloma Avenue, Suite 132, Winter Park, FL 32792
( in the Winter Park Palms Plaza, at the USA Wrestling Southeast Regional Training Center)
Date/Time: Saturday October 13, 2012. Registration is from 11:30-12:00PM. Kids and Juniors Session 12:00-
2:00, Adults and Masters 12:30PM-2:00PM. FJI Sanction pending. More time if there is interest!
Requirements: Proof of valid membership card with USA Judo, USJF, or USJA. USA JUDO memberships will be
available for purchase at the event.
Cost: $10 (Free for registered coaches/sensei USA JUDO, USJF, or USJA…1 coach per club)
Schedule: Training will be broken into 3 groups: a) Masters & Seniors, b) Juniors ages 5-10, and c) advanced
competition oriented Juniors, ages 11-17. Masters & Seniors will focus mostly on randori training after
an adequate warm-up period( timed 3 minute rounds). The advanced Juniors group will be under
the direction of Sensei Shinjiro Sasaki. He will be running the students through competition oriented drills,
randori practice, and a mock competition. Juniors 5-10 will be given an extensive warm-up period, some basic
training exercises and drills, as well as having supervised randori sessions (tachi waza and ne waza).
Each attendee will receive a certificate of attendance, as well as a DVD containing matches from the 2011
Tokyo Grand Slam tournament and World Championships. Also, we will have competition videos playing
throughout the workout. All participants will have access to our weights and cardio training room,
which includes a climbing wall and ropes, as well as weights and cardio equipment. Crash mats
are available to perform throwing practice. I am also very pleased to announce that Dr. Jeffery Stout, from the
University of Central Florida, will briefly speak to coaches and competitors about nutritional needs
for competitive athletes. Dr. Stout is not only a Judo black belt, but is also a Fellow of the American College of
Sports Medicine, and a Fellow of the National Strength and Conditioning Association. Water and sports drinks
will be made available. There is a Subway and KFC in our shopping plaza, so food is easily accessible.

Just found out the Orlando Judo toiurnament has been postponed by 2 weeks to Sept 15 due to hurricane concerns!

Tournament Sept 1 in Orlando! For info see www.orlandojudo.com . This should be a good one for beginners, and pretty close and affordable. We'll weigh in at the dojo next week and collect the fees, then i'll send it all in. We should have about 6 kids and 3 adults going, if someone needs a ride, let me know.
