JOSFC Family - it's meeting week🎣📣
Join us this Thursday evening for a fun summer cookout to celebrate America's 250th birthday & our ONLY meeting in July with hot dogs, burgers, and watermelon. Please bring your favorite summer picnic side or dessert for the potluck (think baked beans, pasta salad, potato salad, coleslaw, mac and cheese, deviled eggs, cobbler, cupcakes....)
Also, this is our annual “Kingfish Skills Tune-Up Night." Don't miss the World Famous Steve “SeaSnake” Thompson teaching his Facebook-Gone-Viral Cast Net Technique. Plus another team will teach Kingfish Pogie Rig tying and Ribbonfish Rig tying, and hands-on downrigger techniques.
And of course, we'll have a table full of awesome raffles, chat about July tournament updates (we're spinning the wheel for the inshore roulette), and hear about some exciting reef development news!!
See y'all there 🙌

A note from our JOSFC President regarding a special trip to Washington D.C. this week:
Five teams from our four South Atlantic states (NC, SC, GA and 2 teams from FL) met with U.S. Representatives , Senators and their staffers to present our concerns, face-to-face, explaining the financial hardships that our Bait and Tackle shops, our For-Hire Captains and our Recreational Anglers suffered after U.S. District of Columbia Judge Contreras forced the Preliminary Injunction to cease our promised 2026 Red Snapper season.
We worked diligently to get our message heard and there are upcoming plans and strategies to hopefully get a 2026 Red Snapper season before the end of the year.
U.S. Legislative actions follow lengthy, time consuming processes, but it is the only way to proceed in hope of a delayed positive 2026 outcome.
Pray for wisdom, perseverance and logical next steps 🙏🎣
