Barkville VI is done for this year and I think it was the best one yet! We decided to use Flyball manager, and I totally loved the seed chart generator and the schedule generator. With a couple of tweaks, we had a decent schedule and it was a lot less headache than previous years of struggling with manually building a schedule. We thank everyone for coming! We had every club from Region 11 but one represented. 23 teams! (Our region is small!)
We entered 4 teams, 2 Regular and 2 Multibreed. Our dogs ran well and gave us their best. We had several baby dogs warming up, and working towards that first real heat! We made one Flyball dog, much to his mom's surprise! We worked hard to have fun, even with all the hard work! We thank our wonderful judge Jonathan Bescher for sticking with us since the beginning.
My teammates are amazing! We had a small buffet lunch provided by us, and Publix! A nice little raffle with a mystery raffle box! A super awesome photographer in Seeing Spots Photography - Canine, and one of our teammates brought out a few members of his photography club to practice shooting fast paced sports dogs! At the end of the day, Rebekah awarded certificates to a "Dream Team". It was pretty cool to see the faces of the handlers when their dogs were announced!
The venue has upgraded the building, and added RV hookups!
I'm really late getting this on Facebook, so I will keep it short.
We had a successful weekend, Tarot became a Flyball dog earning his FD and FDX. Bandit earned his FDX. Ron earned his FDCH-G. Bindi earned her FDCH-S.
We look forward now to hosting in Feb.(13-14) Same venue, same Bat channel!

Our puppies got to do a little mat time at Welcome to Barkville VI. Motive and Smidge are hooked and pulled towards the arena every time they came out of the crate!

Smidge is Joker's niece. The face is definitely in the genes!

JJ traveled to Julian, NC to the Quicksilver Complex to visit and play Flyball with our Region 9 friends at the Ice Cream Social. We took 3 teams and had a lot of fun. This is kind of a special tournament as we have several July birthed teammates! They chose to go to this tournament for their birthdays so how could we not!!?? The dogs like the venue except for Ringer. He was afraid of the noises as we were crated around the arena. It has become an odd thing with him lately. He seemed to be really scared near the end of the day when everyone was packing up. The other dogs were fine, even the puppies had a great time. They pulled toward the arena every time we took them out of their x-pen or crate. They knew that was where the action was! The teams did well. We took home a first, a second and a third. The placement trophies were super cute and the goody bags was amazing! Many thanks to That's So Fetch for hosting a great tournament!

Jumpin' Jax co hosted our very first seminar with Sunshine K9! We spent the morning learning how to boost our canine partner's fitness level with easy to incorporate exercises, and stretches. We learned how to warm up and cool down our partners to reduce injury. The ladies were knowledgeable, fun, and all about the dogs! With enough interest, we would love to have them back in September!!

Jumpin' Jax remembers a great photographer. Lance, you will bd missed.
Puppy videos from the weekend. They were very focused. We tried to run them against each other but they aren't quite ready for that so we ran them one at a time. They did great!

Jumpin' Jax traveled to St Pete for ARU's Peace Love Fireworks tournament. We took one team and had a great time with our tiny group. Our dogs did well, and our newest boy, Tarot, had a very successful warm up. He is going to make a great addition to the team. He is smart, biddable, and very sweet as well as handsome!
Our boy Joker ran perfectly in start, he is so dependable and consistent. Lynx was almost perfect, only having a bobble or two. He is steady and consistent, he loves the game SO much! Ripley ran part time Sat and was perfect. He gave a couple of races to Scarlett, who is getting a little older and tires after two or three races. She is a great dog, dependable, and happy. Razz was our number 5 dog and she is a wild girl! She is fast, vocal, and crazy about her tug! Razz was perfect this weekend and ran for another handler twice as her mom had to run Scarlett. She kept her eye on her mom but did her job and played tug with a new handler. So proud of this girl! Last but not least we filled the roster with Paislee, our doodle. Paislee has really come into her own as a Flyball dog making her mom so proud. She is excited to play, runs hard and flawlessly! She is a steady, dependable, happy girl who really does love the game!
Sunday, Ringer split with Scarlett. He has struggled getting started in Flyball, not wanting to leave his handler unless he saw the dog in the other lane; then he takes off, making his whole run inconsistent and hard to predict. We put him in the anchor spot and he actually only hesitated slightly as he left. He was putting up decent times even with the hesitation. I feel like we are on the right track and he will improve with experience. He has a lovely turn and he carries a ball, although taking his toy after a run id sometimes challenging! Baby dogs! We had our puppies, Motive and Smidge along for the experience, and they were so good! They did mat time on Friday and Saturday lunch. They were amazing! Staying on task and working hard for their tugs! We did recalls to tugs and ball to tug games. They both did really amazing! I'm excited to see these awesome pups grow up and become fabulous sport dogs! Not many pictures, but we have a couple videos of the pups.
