Precision Depth Diving was founded by two veterans who discovered clarity and peace underwater. Our mission is to pass the joy of scuba diving to everyone.

In the technical world of cave diving, they found the discipline and focus to grow.

The pre-dive ritual.

Regs checked. Computers on. Tanks full. Gear exactly where it needs to be.

A little organized chaos before everything gets real quiet underwater. Ready to learn to dive? DM us!

So what does learning to scuba dive actually look like?

It’s a lot more than just checking off skills.

You learn how your equipment works, how to plan a dive, how to control your buoyancy, how to move efficiently through the water, and, most importantly, how to start making decisions for yourself underwater.

That’s a big part of how we teach at Precision Depth Diving.

We keep our classes small so we can actually spend time coaching each diver, fixing the little things, and helping everything start to click.

By the end of the course, the goal isn’t for you to feel like a student who made it through four dives. The goal is for you to actually feel like a diver and ready to explore on your own with new friends and dive buddies! If you’ve been thinking about learning to scuba dive, come dive with us.

Big congratulations to Alec and Kendall, our newest SDI Open Water Divers and TDI Nitrox Divers!!!

They put in the work, built the skills, and wrapped up a great weekend of diving at Ginnie Springs. It’s always awesome getting to watch new divers go from learning the basics to heading underwater with a whole new world opened up to them.

Welcome to the dive community, guys! This is just the beginning. We’re looking forward to seeing where diving takes you next!

So you finally decided you want to learn to scuba dive… now what?

Do you need to buy all your gear first? What equipment do we provide? What should you actually show up with?

At Precision Depth Diving, we don’t expect brand-new divers to walk into a dive shop and drop thousands of dollars on equipment they don’t understand yet. Your Open Water course includes the major scuba equipment you’ll need for training, and we’ll help you figure out what personal gear is actually worth buying before class.

If you’ve been thinking about learning to dive, come train with us. Send us a message and let’s get you underwater!

So You Want to Learn to Scuba Dive… What’s Next? 08/19/2026

Thinking about learning to scuba dive but not sure what actually comes next?

We put together a quick video walking through the process; from choosing a course and getting started with eLearning to gear, pool work, and your open-water dives.

If scuba has been sitting on your “I’ve always wanted to do that” list, this should give you a pretty good idea of what getting certified actually looks like.

Check it out, and if you have questions about getting started, send us a message!

How old do you need to be to learn to scuba dive?

We get that question from parents all the time. The answer is younger than most people think, we can begin teaching the Junior Open Water course at age 10.

And understandably, the next question is usually: What does scuba training look like for my kid? At Precision Depth Diving, one of the biggest differences is that our junior divers train 1:1 with an instructor. And that matters for more than just supervision.
Put a young student in a group and sometimes they’ll hesitate to speak up. They may not want to be the one who says they don’t understand something, asks to see a skill again, or needs a little more time before moving on.

One-on-one training gives them the space to do exactly that. There’s no pressure to keep pace with the rest of a class. We can stop, answer questions, repeat skills, and work at the individual student’s pace until they’re genuinely comfortable with what they’re doing.

For families who already dive, or parents who want to learn alongside their kids, that can open the door to something pretty incredible: getting to experience the underwater world together.

If your family has been curious about Junior Open Water certification, send us a message. We’re happy to talk through how the program works, the age-related limitations, and what we look for when deciding whether a young diver is ready to get started.

A little compass work before dropping into Paradise Springs.

Ken and Nikki spent part of the morning getting comfortable with underwater navigation before putting it to use on the dive. That’s one of our favorite parts of Advanced Adventure, you’re not sitting in a classroom talking about becoming a better diver. You’re out diving, trying new things, and getting more comfortable every time you get in the water.

Deeper dives. Better navigation. Night diving. Better buoyancy. More places you can go and more confidence when you get there.

If Open Water got you hooked, this is where diving really starts to open up.

We’ve got more Advanced Adventure courses coming up. If you want to spend a weekend diving with us, shoot us a message!

What Scuba Gear Should You Buy First? (Don’t Buy Everything at Once) 08/14/2026

If you just got scuba certified, don’t rush out and buy everything at once.

There’s a smarter order to build your gear, and some purchases make a lot more sense early than others. In our latest video, Tony breaks down what to buy first and what to rent for a while.

What was the first piece of scuba gear you bought? And knowing what you know now, would you buy it in the same order?
